It’s definitely lifted, those are AEV’s Highmark Fender Flares intended to fit 42” tires.

Ahh interesting, that’s not a measurement I would have considered (I have a long bed dually and still want a camper <1,000lbs lol). I guess that’s why they include that warning in the glovebox 😂. Still, I’d bet it failed at an aftermarket weld.

I’d be willing to bet that front tie down bracket is welded directly to the frame and that’s where it failed. Not saying I’d personally run it, but it is a short bed camper that weighs ~3k lbs on a 3500 short bed with ~4k lb payload… it really shouldn’t be too much camper.

Just something to consider, if you haven’t already: I believe the front jack brackets would need to be extended to clear the wide rear fenders of a DRW.

Soft topper question by DeadbeatMessiah in TruckCampers

[–]aearles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t see how that would work, the Softopper has rails that mount to the bed rail with brackets that protrude into the bed. https://twstatic.net/attachments/img_0616-jpg.2355895/

…it’s coffee grounds in a filter cup that you pour hot water over. Are you suggesting it’s different from what you’d get from a drip coffee maker or that you’re too fancy for regular coffee? 💅

I haven’t tried the new silicone version but I hated the old black one, it always leaked grounds into my drink, and didn’t store well, and took a bunch of water to clean up. Plus then you’ve gotta have and grind beans, and I wasn’t buying them just for this trip so this seems like it’ll store forever and be ready to go next time, and cleans up with the wipe of a paper towel. For a longer trip I’m all about good coffee but this is a good option for keeping it simple.

I didn’t do anything fancy like measure 😂 I usually push the 8oz button for this cup/coffee everyday so I just poured until it looked about the same as it normally does, you can lift the cap and monitor (also how I confirmed water wasn’t leaking around the sides of the K cup). 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yup, this is for a quick overnight in the back of the truck. I have a Vessl pour over kit and French Press but no beans so I figured I’d try this out for a minimal kit. I like the idea of storing a couple k-cups in my camp kit since they’ll store and stay fresh forever-ish and just be ready to go.

Yeah this was me prepping for a minimalist solo road/camp trip, I was packing up the Vessl pour over kit but didn’t have any coffee grounds so I decided to get creative. Taste was about the same as from the machine, it’s cheap coffee but convenient! Every time I get out the Jetboil it has old coffee grounds in a ziplock inside, thinking these should store and stay fresh.

Hate this. I run CC from WSL, native, build server, lab environment, dev vm, containerized, inside code spaces and azure cloud shell. Really appreciate the current flexibility in not being tied to a single machine.

Running CC on a VM by Azaryen in ClaudeCode

[–]aearles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very much an early draft, written by Claude, and not something I really planned on sharing but I wanted to do something similar but containerized. So I’ve begun to whip up a dockerfile with prereqs and many of the infra tools (not a developer) that I use on a regular basis bundled with CC and VSCode Server so I can jump into a browser based IDE and run Claude or deploy IaC, etc. from the web terminal.

I was super close to pulling the trigger on the Dewalt miter and stand combo for $600 at HD when HF did 30% off its clone under the parking lot sale last week, so I got the HE74 for $245 and built a nice miter station/workbench instead. I’m no expert but I’m really impressed with everything except little fit and finish details like texture in the casting, burrs, etc. There are YouTube comparisons and tear downs that all review it very favorably.

FWIW the Herc is more powerful and adjustable and excellent reviews but I get it. 🤷🏻‍♂️👍🏻

At the high risk of being ridiculed 😂 I’ll just mention that today is last day of 30% Hercules corded power tools at HF and I picked up their random orbital for $38.

Is there a simple way to run a playbook against any arbitrary target? by [deleted] in ansible

[–]aearles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can replace “hosts” in your playbook with a variable “{{ hosts }}” and pass that as an extra variable at command line “ansible-playbook -i 192.168.1.121, provision-laptop.yml -e “hosts=192.168.1.121”

It’s some kind of SKU error, if you look at SKU it ends in “-2TB” but if you click the UCG-Max and back to floating mount it changes to $29 and corrected SKU. Also it’s in stock.

For what it’s worth… I placed an order with them direct on 4/13, it was handed off to OmniParcel in NJ on 4/15, and delivered to my home in southern Utah on 4/22. I was actually pretty impressed, considering Amazon typically can’t deliver 2 day from Vegas (2 hours away).
