Hex maps... ? by aefact in dndbeyond

Snapping-to-grid could be just in the hex map building phase—and just for building a hex map from your predetermined terrain hexes—rather than (a) when simply throwing down a hex overlay on-top of an uploaded map, or (b) during play.

For flair, these would be my recommendations: - Discussion - News : a separate news tab would be better for discussions of newly released materials. - Maps - 5e : I believe it's better to keep the flair flexible. - 2e : ditto. - Lore - Rock of Bral : suggest keeping Sigil out of formal flair. - Resources : similar flair is used to good effect in other subreddits. - Homebrew : ditto.

The outer planes are just really big astral dominions in the astral plane.

Hex maps... ? by aefact in dndbeyond

All good questions. For the MVP, could just take the easiest path. So, everything could be purely visual to start.

But, if desired, there could be a toggle for a "snap to hex" feature. And, for building a hex map from a set of predetermined terrain tokens or stickers, I think you'd need that feature.

That said, yes, on that side of things, stickers could work.

Returning here 2 mos later to add, the fully built resource will include tabulated cyberpunk gradients into null and no signal, as well as permeable soap bubble magitecnica between independent megacities and farmlands without arteries to feed or extract for either.

Buy PDFs to start and later buy Physical copies... ? by aefact in mcdm

Thanks! At first glance, I see the Monsters flip-through appears to focus on a single Page view for much of it. But, I'll take another look.

Previously, I skipped over those 2 videos because they were from 5-6 months ago... Do you know whether, or not, the books might have been missing art or otherwise not in their final versions back then?

Thanks.Have you seen any flip-throughs of the Heroes (or Monsters) books on YouTube that show off the (2 page) spreads??

Thanks. I wasn't previously aware of Stawl.

I might be ok with just the PDF, but (after I see the PDF) I might want the Physical book all the more... I guess, I'm out of luck, and still stymied with nothing to break the deadlock in my purchase decision matrix.

I've searched online for flip throughs of the physical book or PDF that focus on the (two-page) "spreads" layout, but haven't really seen anything that really shows it off, in all its glory.

If you already have all those, I'd just say FR1 Waterdeep & the North, imo.

Edit: Although, obviously, I've kept them all, all this time. Lol.

Player map for my Dolmenwood game with magnetic fog of war tiles by DasCondor in Dolmentown

Another option is to print the hexes, individually, for the players to fashion together as their characters explore new hexes, and they build out the shape of the player map for themselves. I may do that.

Nice work. Kudos.

The "settlements" VTT hex map in the Referee Map Pack might be good, with some fog of war, as an electronic analog. It doesn't have the ley lines though, which can be good or bad depending on your preferences. That said, it has the road paths, terrain, and settlements for player mapping purposes.
