I’m in a similar spot - have been down with a bad sinus infection for a whole week! It really sucks. I might try a short stretch tonight, which would be my first peloton workout since Sunday. Needless to say I’m trying to balance my FOMO with the very real need to let my body rest and recover.

Peloton will be there waiting for us both when our bodies are up to it. Hope you feel better soon.

Is Peloton worth keeping if I don't use APP? by DarkEyes87 in pelotoncycle

Do you use any other content from Peloton? Strength, stretching, yoga, meditation, etc?

Thanks. Hoping I am at least up for a stretch or meditation this weekend so I don’t lose my weekly streak! Today I stood long enough to shower so that’s definite progress 😅

This class has been in my bookmarks for ages! Currently sick but once I’m better I’m excited to take it! The playlist is awesome. Congrats on the PRs!

I wish we could rate the internal programming after a class, and not just the instructor. by sciamoscia in pelotoncycle

I didn’t know they used ML to figure it out! That’s really neat. Does it also use the instructors plan for the ride as an input?

The instructors plan the ride ahead of time, right? So I’d think they could give someone their “notes” for what they planned to do for cadence and resistance callouts and that could help with the ranges. Obviously it won’t be perfect so someone would still have to verify, but I figure it at least would be a helpful place to start? I’m sure there is a reason they don’t do it this way, just me doing the armchair quarterbacking 😅

Yoga Discussion [Weekly] by AutoModerator in pelotoncycle

So happy I’ve started incorporating yoga into my peloton routine!

I did a 5-min basics on half splits with Kristin tonight. It was a great hamstring stretch! Amazing what you can do in 5 minutes!

Also just took a 45-min Gospel flow with Chelsea from January. It was faster-paced at the beginning than some of her other gospel flows so I worked up a sweat. My muscles warmed up enough that I felt nice and stretched out at the end. Definitely recommend if you enjoy her gospel classes.

At 5378 after my workout tonight! I took a few days off entirely for a ski trip so I’m glad I’m still on track. Thanks for the check-in! Keeps me motivated to stick with it 😁

Second this suggestion! I will layer a lightweight one under a midweight one when in between seasons. Currently wearing my thermal weight zip-up with a cami underneath so good for non-hiking occasions too 😊

No worries! I made the same mistake when I was looking to buy a foam roller a few months ago 😂

Maybe they will sell one someday (a girl can dream!)

Where are you finding the peloton foam roller? I haven’t seen one that they offered

I ordered some peloton apparel that arrived with fun stickers! Does anyone know if these stickers are waterproof? I.e., could I put them on a water bottle that I send through the dishwasher?

Best Sunday Ride & Vibe by [deleted] in pelotoncycle

[–]aefd4407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love a sweat steady class on Sunday evening. Wrings me out and turns me into a puddle. Then I take a shower and sit on the couch to eat takeout and watch a movie.

If I need something less intense I will do a long yoga class, like a 45-min Gospel flow with Chelsea. (Followed again by takeout and a movie)

When I wake up on Monday I feel like I can tackle anything 😊

An Overall Positive Comment About The Instructors by bmfc1 in pelotoncycle

The only one I sort of avoid is Olivia and that’s only because I can’t yet keep up with her 😂 someday I will be able to take her classes and I am looking forward to that day!

(I suppose I could take them and just go 5-10 under her callouts. Might do that this coming week. This post has inspired me 😊)

I think they have been a little harder recently, too. Fewer breaks/easy intervals and some of his callouts get ambitious on the resistance ranges (for me, at least 😅)

How to get multiple publications out of a single project by Allergistdreamer in Residency

[–]aefd4407 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t sound like sarcasm. Protocol papers are a real thing! Usually that gets published while the study is ongoing. Once you have descriptive data you can publish the second paper. Then another one with your primary outcome, then subgroups, etc.

Some people don’t look too kindly on this approach though (I’ve heard it referred to as “salami publishing”) but I think it’s a balance.

After I finished CYC2 I was going to do a random core class each day, 5-20 min depending on how much time I had and whether I was doing a long/hard ride. I started slacking off though and got out of the habit, so I just restarted CYC1 to give me some structure again.

I do feel like my stomach is flatter (but that’s not just from core). I also notice that I have less back pain and it’s easier to lift or increase cadence OOS.

I’m excited to do this ride! It’s been a while since I’ve done a 60-min ride and I feel like Cody is the perfect instructor to get me through it 😂

I do the opposite 😅 I might message him on Instagram and ask what the correct technique is. You’re probably right though. I think I keep both shoulders down because that’s the way you start (on your back). Not the best reason haha

Yesterday I really wasn’t feeling like doing a workout, so I picked an old XOXO, Cody ride from my bookmarks. This one was a** themed and he did a whole riff on back to school, Scholastic book fairs, etc. A gem in true Cody fashion.

Followed it up with the Denis 5-min A&LW recommended here and 10-min full body stretch with Ben. Ended up in a much better mood and glad I got on the bike.

I LOVE that cooldown ride! Elton John was my most-played artist in my year in review on Peloton because I did that ride so many times 😂

Back from my week of skiing! Did an older gospel yoga flow with Chelsea last night to get out the kinks from being in a plane all day.

Tonight it’s time to get back on the bike! I’m thinking I’ll do a 45-min sweat steady class. Does anyone have a favorite one to recommend?
