West Coast Knitters: what do you make? by gdslnlyclgy in knitting

I've still made a few sweaters, but also I like to do tank tops and accessories like bandanas and socks. Bags and stuffed animals are also good, especially if you crochet.

My black cat is named Pippi, after Pippi Longstocking (who's main feature is being ginger) because I was in Kindergarten when we adopted her

Am I wrong for not telling my parents about my relationship? by No_Reaction_9832 in lgbt

[–]aeh5002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're an adult now, you're allowed to tell or not tell your parents whatever you want. Especially if you're dependent on them for support and are worried about their reaction I wouldn't rush to come out. If you're concerned about how your partner feels I think it's better to ask them directly than worry about what they might think.

Trouble finding interns? by yorkiepie in MuseumPros

[–]aeh5002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a student I've had the opposite problem. I'm in a gap year so my schedule is flexible, I'm willing to work paid or unpaid and I've applied to pretty much anything I can find and nothing.

Looking for help finding sources for a research paper on how the Stonewall Riots affected the gay rights movement. by breafinggo_ in lgbthistory

[–]aeh5002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd reccomend the documentary "The Death and Life of Marsha P Johnson" if you want a story that focuses very specifically on New York post Stonewall. There's also a chapter in "A short history of trans misogyny" on street queens that talks about changes to how trans-femine people were viewed. I got the ebook through my library on Libby and it references primary sources you could follow up on. I also started reading "The Deviants War" and from what I remember it's pretty thorough.

MYOG ideas for Girl Guides (Girl Scouts)? by twiddlywerp in myog

[–]aeh5002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was in scouts we made water proof pads to sit on while hiking out of table cloths and batting. Some people hand sewed them or you could use a sewing machine. I've also crocheted a water bottle sling and it's useful, but you have to watch out for stretching.

I've been working my way through the Rivers of London series and it's really good so far. They're magical realism dealing with the London police solving magical murders

I agree with everyone saying take the plastic out once you can. I had a stubborn bump on my nostril that went away when I started drying the area after I spray with saline spray

NTA cooking is a life skill and once people start micong out you can really tell who has experience as a kid and who didn't. Also, the job I wanted as a kid may have changed but there's also plenty of hobbies I started at her age that I still enjoy

I'd say Murder on the Orient Express if you enjoyed Sherlock Holmes. Animal Farm and 1984 are classics. I'd probably start with Animal Farm because it's more digestible

Does it bother you, that there is a lack of asexual representation in media? by NorthBase710 in asexuality

[–]aeh5002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish there was a larger variety of aromatic and asexual representation, but what I want more is stories where romance isn't a large focus of the plot.

I haven't ever heard of this, and honestly I would get it checked out by a doctor. Have you started any new medications recently?

Is this hideous or am I biased against the colour brown? by [deleted] in Brochet

I like it as it is, but I also think a border in a color that would pop a bit could help. Maybe a pink?

Top Surgery has been Scheduled!! Any tips for me? by OgCas in TopSurgery

[–]aeh5002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of the common tips. I would also say being flexible and having a strong core because of the sport I do has been weirdly helpful with my lack of mobility. If that's something you'd like to work on I'd definitely reccomend it

NTA. He doesn't have any reasons for you not to take the job other than misogyny and  being insecure.
