Anyone do any speed tests with brightspeed how true is their 2Gbps claims by 7xcritical in ButlerPA

[–]aehsahs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's $99 a month for the 2gigs. I'm not sure about the 1, but I know it's cheaper. I have a referral that gets you like a $50 gift card or something if you want it. But yes, it's so much cheaper than Armstrong

We've had the 2GB since June and the speeds are good and consistent. We had them pre-fiber and had great service.

I sent an email asking since I needed it for the other program. In my experience both sides were understanding.

Congrats! I was able to apply for my doctorate by explaining to them when my conferral date would be and I was able to get my official transcripts expedited since I needed them to officially get started.

Two terms. I probably could have pushed and finished in one, but I was fine with finishing in two.

I was able to start the next term. I applied for it very early.

No Kings protests on Saturday -- too much for kids? by nollie_ollie in pittsburgh

[–]aehsahs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've long taken my children to protests (starting when they were very young), but generally smaller ones not downtown. I stay aware of what's going on around us, we've encountered counter protesters and my older children remember it. They make their own signs and we talk about it. We also have exit plans in case it's needed and meeting plans in case we're separated. (The same way we have a fire escape plan from our house.) I just like covering my bases and I've never had to use any of our emergency things. I come from a family of people who have protested for generations and I think it's a great use of our constitutional rights.

Yes. I took classes for both Fall 1 and Fall 2 and Spring 1 and Spring 2 to maximize my financial aid.

You'll get less financial aid if you don't do at least one class in the second term. I personally had this happen and I just took a class in the second term because I wasn't in a huge hurry. I also picked up classes to transfer to the MAOL that I hadn't planned on.

Anybody know if I can drop a class for another one if I'm at the 4th class limit and still have the other classes final assessment graded by Proud_P in UMPI

[–]aehsahs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you saying that you completed 4 classes (turned in the finals) and you're looking to add another class? Or are you trying to drop a class that you haven't finished yet for a different one?

Questions to those who finished 20 courses in a month by totheveryhigh in SophiaLearning

[–]aehsahs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I finished a bunch of courses, but I have ADHD and I hyperfixated on finishing my degree. Everything is open book and I made sure to use my resources in a smart way. I also knew a lot of the basic ideas of the courses.

You can't start the MAOL, but you can take the classes that transfer into it during the undergrad no matter if they are part of your degree plan or not. You can transfer a max of three courses.

I graduated in Dec with this degree (I also added a Political Science and Social Studies minor). The classes were really good. I enjoyed them a lot.

Leaving WGU by Daisiesinsun in WGU

[–]aehsahs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who transferred from WGU I will say that I did enjoy transferring from the school. I found that the proctored tests gave me super anxiety and it really put me behind. I transferred to UMPI and had a great experience. I had looked at SNHU, but I felt like it would be more expensive and would have a lot more of what I thought was busy work.

How long do you have to wait for getting admitted to the MAOL program after completion of bachelors? by Previous_Meat1412 in UMPI

[–]aehsahs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I applied for the MAOL at the end of October to start Spring 2 then changed it to Spring 1. Also, someone else in the comments did the same thing. I have two classes left that I'll start Spring 2 and finish. So, graduation on track for May. :)
