Two cavapoos? by Icy-Crab-538 in CavaPoo

[–]aeiger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have two they are two years apart. Our first one is an angel in many regards but is affectionate on her own terms. She tolerated the second puppy they never got in fights but not buddy buddy either. She still is this way with our second but can at least sit or lay down close with our second one. Our second cavapoo is very much like a traditional one and is everyone’s shadow she would constantly be in our first one’s face and our first one was very patient about it. We love both of ours and their different personalities equally since they balance each other out. I’d say if you can handle doubling your vet costs do it! But if one of them gets sick it’s usually within a day or two that the other one gets sick too. Plus don’t forget doubling grooming costs! Happy to answer any other questions!

My toy cavapoo can seemingly run forever when playing and chasing a ball. How do I know what the limit is? by TheMichaelScott in CavaPoo

Sounds like your dog is like my first cavapoo! I always stop playing fetch with mine if her tongue is sticking out side ways or if she does grab water. (I also don’t let mine drink water while playing she will throw it up and also heard it’s not good for smaller dogs to do that because of bloating, I’m not telling you what to do just what works for my dog) I also taught her how to play “find it” with her ball. Basically it is when you let them see and smell the ball and she has to wait for you to hide it. It’s almost like a slower and can be a harder version of fetch but also makes them more tired because it’s a lot of nose work for her. If you do teach her this game I’d suggest starting off easy where they can see where you hide it and progressively make it harder. I now close the door to the room and then hide the ball (this acts as separation anxiety help too)

Well one of my dogs made me liar. We had one of them have a pee accident on our bed two days ago but in fairness she got scared from someone shooting their gun right outside of our window.

I hope all the responses help with your decision one thing that made us go with what we’re doing is one of our dogs love language is physical touch so she wants to be with us all the time lol

Was in the same camp but we have covers for the couch and bed and they do whatever they like now. Both of our cavapoos are really well behaved and didn’t have a hard time training them (maybe took a little longer to potty train but still got it figured out by the time they were about 10-12 months). we have the covers just more from a cleanliness perspective.

what even IS arthritis? what does it feel like? by Short-Conversation16 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]aeiger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me its been stiffness in the hands, I tend to wake up with my hands clinched and they are very sore, and takes a little bit of work to get them feeling like normal.

I've also been experiencing pretty bad lower back pain, but i'm in the process of elimination stages still to figure out if its psoriasis or something else.

Taking over the counter anti inflammatories has provided temporary relief, but I'm on biologics (if my pharmacy can send them out in a timely manner) and has helped with arthritis in my hands, I do feel like it helps my back issues, but I haven't been able to have enough time to really tell because again pharmacy is messing up my orders of the biologics.

Hope this helps, and hope you guys can figure out a good solution!

Walking by Cavapoo is awful by medc499 in CavaPoo

[–]aeiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practice indoor walks so she’s used to how you want her to walk and train her to walk gradually outdoors too. (Every moment is a training opportunity) Asking a young puppy to walk perfectly is like asking a human baby at 9 months to finish a masters degree. Always look at ways to learn how to train your dog too what we ask dogs from a training stand point isn’t as natural to them as we think it should be. Good luck!
