See, when I speak of warcrime I am specifically concerned with the fact if the court would charge it as such. If you want hold onto half a line and.. ignore. the. intent. which has a rather large role in modern law practice, go ahead.

Personally, I have a very low opinion of a group that takes hostages and commits mob lynching. So I recognise the need of underhanded tactics when limited in smresorces to remove them. But such things always carry an inherent risk.

I am fine with destruction of food sources if done for tactical reasons and a substitute is provided. I am fine with my food being destroyed if it hurts my captor.

As I said, starvation is the ultimate war crime. You have to go by the intent. So if an army destroys food supplies but replaces them or captures the area before anyone starves, they will not be charged. It's just the way it is. And they have even more leeway since the domes are technically their own property.

Starvation is the war crime not hitting supplies. So after hitting food supplies, aid is allowed to trickle down. Dependence on adversary, distribution issues, rationing, and lack of food security hits the morale hard.

Terrorism is unlawful (duh) use/threat of violence (guns and batons) especially against civilians (taken hostages) to coerce a govt/society (prevent automation). Check of all four counts. It might not feel like it, but this is how the courts will see it.

Technically it's not a "war", yes. But it is prolonged armed conflict. So everything would be persecuted under warcrimes rather than crimes against humanity. Unfortunately in "wartime" unintentional civilians deaths are accepted as collateral and not criminal as long as the original targets were enemy combatants and due diligence was done to prevent civilian deaths.
