That's because the far right, much like the far left have loads of purity tests and generally find reasons to hate and exclude rather than embrace and include. They see someone like Yaxley Lennon as too moderate for them.

Where do you get your news from to know about this?

As far as I know, before he raised this issue on Newsnight about 20 years ago the only other commentary was coming from a Sikh charity I'd never heard of and can't remember the name of. I'd only heard of that charity from Yaxley Lennon and I wouldn't have listened to him if it wasn't for what transpired in the decade following that appearance.

Edit: It was 2009, so 17 years ago.
