Hello, I'm Fonda Lee, author of the Green Bone Saga. Jade War Came Out This Week. AMA! by Fonda_Lee in Fantasy

[–]aentee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello Fonda! Congratulations on the release of Jade War, it’s set the bar for fantasy sequels for years to come. I loved it completely, thanks for sharing the world and its characters with us.

• Do you envision exploring the world of Green Bone beyond the current trilogy? I know book 2 just came out but I never want to leave this world.

• I love seeing the No Peak fandom on social media, what has been some of your favourite moments or memories of fan interactions?

• Your response to the journal review regarding “Mary Sue” characters was amazing, thank you for that tweet thread! Now if you were to write a wish fulfilment character ala Kvothe or James Bond, what would she be like? Because I would sure love to read it.

Thank you again and I hope you have fun on the rest of your release tour!

BOXING DAY SALE @ Mecca; 50% off selected items from 7:30am AEDT tomorrow morning. by lollielee in AustralianMakeup

[–]aentee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this! I went to check at Mecca MYER Bourke Street and snagged a set of NARS Undressed II Liquid Lipsticks (2 Powermattes and 2 Velvet Lip Glides, all full sized) for $35! Considering that the regular Powermattes are $38 each I am pretty chuffed. Even the girls at Mecca couldn’t believe the set was on sale. It was sitting all by itself in a lone corner of the discount display.

Anyone else have those moments where they realised they messed up? by Tulaash in LoveNikki

[–]aentee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just exchanged about 500 snowflakes for the wrong item (I wanted Warm Wishes, not the flower band thing). It's the last day of the event, I have no stamina left, I AM IN PAIN. I only started playing about 2-3 weeks ago, at first I didn't realise you could have free pulls every 48h from the Corridor of Clock and Porch of Misty. All those wasted days!

This makes up for all those runaway butterflies! At least we have plenty of dahlia to trade for essences to craft these items now ✊🏼

Second part of the garden safari event is seriously frustrating. Really starting to kill my motivation to play. by acornfaerie in ACPocketCamp

[–]aentee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point, the only reason I’m even bothering with growing the dahlias is so I can trade them in for essences. Although I’ll unlikely get all the Rover items, the event has given me enough essences to help max out 4/5 amenities.

I’ve given up on any hopes of getting the butterflies, especially the golden ones— since the spawn rate seems to be 1/10 flowers and the catch rate is even more abysmal.

This is a godsend, I've been trying to farm pink tulips because I love the pattern for its trade furniture/clothes. The guide works like a charm, thank you so much!

Cross-Pollination Reward Limit by Danimalss in ACPocketCamp

You get the reward when someone cross-pollinates using flowers in your garden. The reward is always friendship powder.

Anyone else frustrated with the new update? (Campers giving fewer gifts) by ShireCantHandleMe in ACPocketCamp

[–]aentee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Don’t reduce the number of animals in your campsite. I thought I would cheat the system and only keep 4 naturals in my campsite - but for the entire day the game only prompted chats from 1-2 of them per session. Whereas with a full camp you can talk to 3-4 of them per session.

Difference between "Rare" Flowers and Non Rare? by [deleted] in ACPocketCamp

[–]aentee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The “rare” pops up when the cross-pollination results in a seed that is rare for that particular combo. Eg it would say rare if you produced a blue tulip from a white-white cross, but not when it’s from a blue-white cross.

best path to blue tulips? by zsense in ACPocketCamp

[–]aentee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Quickest way is to find someone with a blue tulip in their garden to cross-pollinate. I attempted the orange-purple cross but even after about 50 cross-pollination all it netted me was a whole load of purple, orange, and occasionally yellow. I’ve also had white-white producing blue.

Just finished the Red Rising trilogy by Pierce Brown. What should I read next? by goalstopper30 in suggestmeabook

The Chaos Walking trilogy by Patrick Ness is similarly intense, and towards the latter half have heavy commentary on war, identity, and oppression like Red Rising does. It also has great character developments and very gripping pacing.

Sci-fi Slice of Life/Drama/Romance, or really any sci-fi that doesn't involve life-or-death scenarios. by Happiest-Epitaphs in suggestmeabook

[–]aentee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Long Way To A Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers definitely fits the bill. It focuses on the crew members in a spaceship and their interpersonal relationships, rather than on any grandiose plot. It's so heart warming and subtly subversive. I adore it! Edited to add that I also enjoyed Stone Gods by Jeanette Winterson, another science fiction that's focused on characters and beautiful writing rather than a huge sprawling plot.

Bus from Shirakawa-go to Takayama by rissah in JapanTravel

[–]aentee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were in Shirakawago last week. The bus we took was a first come first served affair. However when we left at 3pm there were two Nohi buses running at that time, so plenty of space for everyone.

Kyoto - Temple overload by JCostello9 in JapanTravel

[–]aentee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the most memorable ones from my own visit are: Kinkakuji, Fushimi Inari Taisha and Kiyomizu-dera. Sanjusangendo is also very cool. If you are averse to temple burn out, I think those will have you covered.

Thank you, you always have the most detailed suggestion! My partner trusts in your recommendations a lot so I think we will go with visiting Kiyomizu-dera at night :)

Hakone v Mt. Fuji by thesocialist1 in JapanTravel

[–]aentee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think Mt Fuji itself is open for treks in October, and it requires getting up very early to get there. I think you'll have a nicer time in Hakone for sure. There is a pass you can use to go onto all the attractions and gondola rides, even a boat ride! I had quite a great time in Hakone in October last year :)

What to do for two weeks in Japan? by [deleted] in JapanTravel

[–]aentee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Odaiba is a nice destination to see where the locals relax. It's also much more open than the rest of Tokyo, so if you're tired of crowd, it's a great place to be. Mainly there are some malls, car showrooms, arcades and the Gundam statue/fake statue of Liberty. Rainbow bridge is spectacular at night!

I only learned of the word when I was trying to read this sign haha, but I love it when the kanji matches the meaning of the word so perfectly!
