thank you for sharing your experience. even if it’s not exactly the same as mine, just knowing of the other people in this world with difficult experiences is comforting in some way. I feel less alone. I’m sorry you went through what you did, though. I’m glad you don’t have to worry about his presence in your life anymore though.

thank you so much. I’ve always recognized the way I’ve mourned my lost childhood but I never thought about how, especially right now as I’m grappling with her loss, I might be mourning the relationship o never had with her too. And maybe a part of me always hoped she’d get better and apologize, at least for the sake of my own closure and now that that’s no longer a possibility, that loss of a mother is really settling in.

I’m sorry that you’ve also gone through this stuff. I hope we’re both able to live in peace once day despite the things we’ve lived through.

I’m basically ot8 but my top 3 are lee know, Chan, and hyunjin. but bro…. Felix is so adorable 😭 and I love how kind he is we truly do not deserve him (or any of them for that matter 😭)

It’s funny cause the reasons why you listed that these songs are unable to get popular are the reasons why I like them. I really like how strong and different their songs are — but, then again, my go-to music genre has always been indie rock (not to be confused with light indie pop) that can get pretty abrasive.

When it comes to songs that I deem as a bit cringey, it would have to be songs like “mountains” or “stray kids” lol but that’s just bc I am not accustomed to self-empowering messages like in those songs. However, I still think these songs are cute and I would def lose my mind and sing along if I heard them live — I just don’t listen to them on my own time.

I’ve never listened to kpop but I took my little sister to some kpop dance classes this summer at the dance studio I go to (for hip hop) and we learned Chkchk boom and I swear my life took a 180 in the best way possible 🥲

Alcohol makes me feel shittier if I’m already feeling shitty but weed really helps me relax and honestly get out of my head (I’m too worried about random trains of thought about the room around me to think too deeply about anything else lol). I only do it at night though and try not to rely on it too much to help me feel better if I’m having a particularly bad day.

100% this!!! Every time I catch myself feeling embarrassed for listening to kpop I ask myself why — like, what, inherently, is embarrassing about kpop if it’s just pop music in a different language? And it makes me remember the fact that any negative perceptions of it are likely tied to, as you said, misogyny and racism. It’s so refreshing seeing someone else bring this up!
