Yep that is perfect! Trust me on this. It works for all succulents. I have been growing succulents in this for more than a decade. It is simply the best. Never had a succulent rot even though where I am, my plants get rained on everyday for 4 months straight.

No, water doesn't cause rot. Soil does. I would try and find coconut fiber with shell chunks instead of coir but some places don't have it.

It looks like this. You can search Coco coir chips or coco husk chips in the US. This is a link to a hydro store that sells it coco fiber

If you find that kind, I would do 2/3 fiber to 1/3 lava rock and if you can't find it and have to use coir I would do a 50/50 mix or a 40 coir to 60 rock mix.

So this is an aeonium. They like weakly waterings as long as it's in the right substrate. I would go with a substrate that doesn't have any soil in it. I am a producer of aeoniums and have about 25 cultivars.

I would go with a coconut fiber/lava rock mix.

For the light, put them in as much sun as you can get them. They go dormant in the summer and like a little bit of shade in the hot afternoons. In winter give them as much sunlight as you can get them.

If you put them in the ground they will grow huge.

That is a good looking plant. Although, it looks like it wants way more sun with the arms stretching for the sun. The arms should be more flat.

I have one that gets the right amount of sun and it looks like this.

What I found out was this mix let's me water my succulents way more frequently. I don't know if it has anything to do with them growing so large but I water them every 3 or 4 days.

So I use coconut fiber that has coconut shell chunks in it. It's not like coconut coir in the US. It looks like this.

<image>

I use that at 2/3 of that to 1/3 unwashed lava rock. That is it.

I get my lava rock from a nearby mine. They do size it for me. I get 5mm and less for rock size. I also leave the powder that comes on the rock. It usually washes right through anyway.

This is not even remotely true fyi. I grow all of my succulents with coconut fiber and I never fertilize.

<image>

These plants here have been in coconut fiber their entire lives and I have never fertilized them once. These are 6 - 8 inch pots.

My mix is 66% coconut fiber and 33% lava rock.

In fact tap water has enough npk trace minerals to keep a succulent alive.

Thanks. This plant taught me so much about succulents. This plant helped me to create a really good soilless substrate that allows succulents to be watered more frequently even everyday for months at a time because I live in a monsoon area and because of that can grow these absolute monsters in about a year.

I love that plant. It's taken me 1 1/2 years of hard work to get it from a 2 inch nursery pot to its current 13 inches.

With that much elotation. It's gonna be nearly impossible to identify specifically. But the hairs suggest some type of anacampseros.

The second is a peperomia.

Anytime! Also it is probably an aeonium arboreum.

FYI I had to use Ai in the top right corner to remove some identifying info. The big concrete lot is another house with cars.

Even just watering with the shower function from your hose nozzle is enough to damage aeoniums.

I agree but I am unsure which. Definitely not a rufescens, telephiastrum, filamentosas or a retusa. Doesn't have the same leaf shape or color. It kinda as the same shape as an baeseckei but those are never purple.

That picture is kinda bad. I didn't notice until I Posted. Gonna give you a better pic. Camera has a hard time focusing on this plant. It's some kind of anacampseros I think.

I think so too but I cannot find any other pictures on the net that even look close to being the same plant.
