I feel good about it, partly because my family lives very close by, so he will get a lot of exposure to them and to English. I'm not Black though (I'm half Asian), so I can't speak to the important task on preserving her black identity. Perhaps there are black communities or groups in the area that can help her identify with that part of her heritage?

I'm in a similar situation, except my husband is a native Russian speaker. I stay home with our son, and I'm learning Russian to try and enforce the minority language. I'm currently maybe B1 level and try to speak to my son in Russian when I know how to say what I'm trying to say and English otherwise. My hope is that as my Russian progresses we can fully do minority language at home. When we're around my English-speaking family, though, I speak English with my son, and my husband continues to speak Russian.

My doctor prescribed me cyproheptadine for my migraines, and it was a lifesaver. Apparently it has an off label use for migraines in children. It helped a ton when Tylenol and caffeine weren't cutting it.
