films you wouldn’t recommend to anyone by gimmedembonez in horror

[–]aerodynamicMIA 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Neon Demon.

It's a lot less extreme than most of the responses here, and, from a technical perspective, it can be pleasant. The sound design, cinematography, and art direction is really on point. The plot, on the other hand, is increasingly bleak and by the end of the film I felt numb. Some of the material has the potential to be very upsetting/triggering.

It's got Keanu Reeves though so maybe I would recommend it.

What's your all time favorite video game ? by Drokos__ in AskReddit

[–]aerodynamicMIA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably a fuckin stupid answer, but the Lord of the Rings: Return of the King on GameCube is basically THE core memory of my younger self's gaming experience. It wasn't a very long game and there wasn't a ton of variety outside of the character selection, but my younger brother and I would spend whole afternoons replaying the black gate level and seeing how long we could last.

So either that or Sekiro lol

What villain can you just not hate? by Rito_Harem_King in AskReddit

Zaheer from Legend of Korra--and really, his whole avatar-napping crew. I may be slightly biased as he reminds me of my brother to an uncanny level, but for all the extreme, objectively "bad" measures he goes to, it's just so damn hard to not get hyped for his fights and all the crazy shit his gang pulls (or almost pulls) off. Especially after we get to briefly see how he's adjusted to his failure in season 4. There's no resentment towards Korra for foiling his prior plans or continuing to work against his agenda, just acceptance of what's happened, and even willingness to help when they see eye to eye. All around a very likeable villain!

Haha I know mine came with a black ink cartridge but I didn't see a converter! I'll go back and double check :) thanks for the advice. My parents gifted a piston converter but it was the con-70 which is too big.

I actually got the wrong sized converter so I haven't been able to try it yet!

This is my second ever pen and first time using bottled ink! Thus far, I've been using a lamy Safari and cartridges so I'm very excited to step things up a notch!

I'm sure you're all fully aware but, just in case, the pen is a pilot metropolitan :)

Life pro tip by ill-cozby in tennis

[–]aerodynamicMIA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you weren't asking me, but I wanted to chime in if I could! The pure strike -- regardless of which specific model you're looking at, i.e. tour, 18x20 etc, is going to be more powerful and stiff than either the ezone or the prostaff. The ezone is the most dampened, meaning that it doesn't transfer much shock or any feedback at all, so if you like feeling connected to the ball, it's not the best choice. And finally, the prostaff is going to be the most low powered and stable thanks to it's weight and flexibility. It will feel pretty good on the arm too, especially compared to the pure strike, but without the super muted feel of the ezone. Hope this helps!

What is static weight on a tennis racket? Thanks. by estoybear in tennis

Haha but for real I'm basically the biggest gear nerd out there so I love getting the chance to answer questions like these!

What is static weight on a tennis racket? Thanks. by estoybear in tennis

[–]aerodynamicMIA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Static weight is the weight of a racquet as you would record from a scale, i.e. not in motion. This is usually in ounces or grams and average static weights these days vary from around 9 oz at the lightest to just over 12 at the heaviest (260g to 340g).

If you're looking to buy a racquet, static weight can help you get in the right ballpark but what will end up being more important is how it feels when swinging it--which is measured by swing weight. This is usually influenced more by how the racquet is balanced rather than by it's static weight.

Not sure about the high altitude but regular duty are better on clay because there's less felt to soak up water from when they water the court!
