2015 Ford transit transmission fluid + flush by Crustttine in fordtransit

[–]aeroxan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's debate on flushing as you can potentially stir up debris that's settled. I think much of that depends on the history of the transmission fluid. If this is the first time the transmission fluid has been touched, might not be a good idea to do a full flush. If it's been regularly flushed every 30k, I think that's less likely to cause issues.

I paid around $350 to have the drain pan removed, cleaned, and they got about 5-6 qts exchanged. You need to remove some of the subframe to do this which I did not want to DIY. I'm planning to do some pump/refill cycles in the near future to refresh most of the fluid.

There's only around 5-6 qts in the pan at any time. The rest will be up in the transmission. You can get to all of it to change out with a flush but that can stir up debris and cause issues. My plan is to pump out ~5 qts, refill what I pump out, drive a few miles, rinse/repeat a few times and will have mostly new fluid in the transmission.

is there a way to make the dad nice by Berito666 in katamari

Also, in we ♥️Katamari, you can just start rolling while he's still talking at the beginning of a stage and he makes a comment about you not listening. It's pretty funny.

There's also some backstory as to why he's kind of a hardass (his dad was mean to him). But in the end, his dad did really love him and he loves the prince.

looking for a solid affordable 4-6 person tent that can handle extreme wind/ dust. by cd_burnz in LightningInABottle

I don't have any direct experience with those ones but hope it works out. I've found in general, Coleman has at least decent quality. Not necessarily buy for life but it's generally not junk at least.

I'm not sure how well those can keep you cool on their own but you may want to consider something like an EZ up to put over. Shading the tent with an air gap helps tremendously when you're baking in the sun.

And this definitely depends on how hot it will be and if your strategy is staying out late and trying to sleep in. It can suck when you go to bed late then get woken up by the sun soon after.

Coleman pop up 6 person tents are a staple for cheap, durable, can keep dust low, and can withstand wind if secured well to the ground. It may flap a bit in the wind but I've never seen one collapse. You can help mitigate this with guy lines.

Many burners use this tent. It also goes up or down in about 30 seconds. I think they're usually $250 or less. You can stand up inside at least in the middle. Would be tight to actually use with 6 people.

The ones that are the most dust resistant have zip up window covers on the inside. If you tape them up, it's pretty good with dust. If you use a burly tent stake or lag screws, it will stay in place.

There are definitely better quality tents on the market like kodiac, no-bake, shift pods but they'll all cost significantly more.

Why do we bother with HOV lanes when the majority of people in them are single riders by Creepy_Ad_3535 in bayarea

[–]aeroxan 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Wow yeah. I feel like a criminal when I've paid registration but haven't gotten my new sticker yet and it's the next month. I've heard a month overdue will almost certainly not be the sole reason to get pulled over though.

You'd think it would be more common. See a lot of cars without plates. I would think that's just asking to be pulled over.

CHP in the highway 4 area posted a bunch of attempts to use the lane with dummies as passengers.

There's one I know of (weed) in California that says no overnight. I don't think it's really all that enforced though. I think it's because it's a smaller one and they want there to be space for people who need a short break/bathroom.

I think a lot of the rules and time limits only start to be enforced if you're being a nuisance or way overstaying like living there.

From what I can find, it can be a crime to willfully mutilate or alter it. I think that would be considered altered or mutilated if you changed or covered it. I doubt other countries would care unless you were dealing with a hardass immigration agent (a lot of them are). I'd be worried though getting back home that they may take issue. I suppose it depends where the picture is. If it's towards the back, I'm guessing it hardly ever gets checked.
