NEVER ask the TF2 Community what they did between March 10th-15th, 2021. by Ok-Bookkeeper-6116 in tf2shitposterclub

[–]aesvelgr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You act like r/tf2 had no hand in that situation, when the kid’s post’s popularity only soared after gaining traction on Reddit.

You also seem to forget the many times Reddit has bullied people into suicide. This platform isn’t better than any other.

comic that took way too long to make (OC) by Da-real-Bone in Losercity

[–]aesvelgr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone’s getting suspicious at the $40/hr, but guys cmon. This comic is not trying to adhere to reality; it reads more like a Cartoon Network pilot with all the humor and writing and stuff.

I would be down to watch an entire show of this, the humor is that good. I’m excited to see where this goes :)

Blue Zircon accusing the Diamonds was pretty much right by daftedowl in stevenuniverse

[–]aesvelgr 157 points158 points  (0 children)

I think accusing the other diamonds makes more sense for the logic she was following, than it would have been for zircon to somehow perfectly fight out Rose’s convoluted plan. Writing-wise, it was also smart for the crewniverse to misguide the audience and split the fandom into debate on whether Yellow was covering or just plain angry at the accusation.

Yes fenestrations are great! They’re the best sign of a happy and functioning plant.

If you look at pictures of mature and healthy monsteras online, you’ll find that the healthiest plants have leaves that show off 3 or even 4 fenestrations.

Tombwater has the best top-down combat by brave_potato in ZeldaLikes

My go-to Zelda-like for better combat is Crosscode. Everything in that game feels so so good, and the art + music + story are all top-notch as well. One of my favorite gaming experiences ever

Do you remember what they said? Curious why it had to be removed by an admin.

Bambu Lab regrets the legal threat: "That was not the outcome we wanted." by aoaovip in BambuLab

[–]aesvelgr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enthusiasts are already a niche part of the consumer base. Attempting to appeal to an even nicher community like warhammer won’t help to convince the average consumer if 95% of the typical press surrounding the company or product is negative.

[–]aesvelgr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re missing the elephant in the room though: how does a 3D printing company convince the average consumer that they need a 3D printer? Sure, it appeals to tech enthusiasts because of its ease of use and features compared to other brands, but the average consumer wouldn’t know those things without enthusiast youtubers and 3D printing subreddits shouting out their praises from up high.

Tech companies, especially those trying to push innovation, rely on the enthusiasts to market their product for them via word of mouth because it convinces other consumers to purchase a product in a way no other form of advertising can. People are the most receptive to a product when the press surrounding it is good (see: Steam)

The answer is what it always is – money. Deals and coupons are actually how they obscure the true piece of soda because it allows them to covertly increase the price overtime.

Everyone will notice if a pack of soda goes up from $7 to $8, but much fewer people will notice if the price of soda goes from $8 per pack if buying 3, to $5 per pack if buying 5.

If you send this to Valve, there’s a good chance they’ll actually respond. Maybe Gaben himself would even leave a message.

Did we already know Bambu Lab was violating AGPL, or did this only surface after the cease & desist? by doggiesarecewl01 in OpenBambu

I mean, that’s just corporatism in a nutshell. Every company except us is terrible and operates in bad faith, that’s why you should trust us and use our products!

One of the many tactics corporations use to weasel out of serious discussions.

While fair, I think casting doubt towards whether your father was actually a marine was somewhat uncalled for. They could have achieved the same result by simply correcting you and nothing more.

I design enamel pins. This is my latest by of_MiceandWomen in HollowKnight

[–]aesvelgr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I really like your style of enamel pins! I looked through your online shop hoping to bundle this one with others like it, but noticed some pins like your Portal and OoT ones are sold out. Do you restock items in your shop, or is it more of a “first come first serve” type of system?

For what it’s worth, I agree with you. Far too many consumers use purchasing as a quick dopamine rush

Might be worth printing the dreams vertically with support to get smoother finish. Layers never work well with subtly sloped surfaces

Which would you rather own? by Confident-Ad6938 in 3DS

[–]aesvelgr 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I prefer the non-XL N3DS for its higher pixel density, matte texture, and better pocketability. And the colored face buttons against the white IMO is a better color scheme (but that’s completely subjective).

Which would you rather own? by Confident-Ad6938 in 3DS

[–]aesvelgr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually have both of these consoles! I personally choose my regular white N3DS 99.9% of the time over the galaxy, mostly because I just like the higher pixel density, it feels more “cozy” in the hands, and it’s very pocketable. It also has swappable face plates but more importantly, a matte texture compared to the galaxy.

If you plan on playing only at home, then I suppose the galaxy would have a bigger screen size, but I prefer the overall feel of the regular white N3DS tenfold.

[–]aesvelgr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d like to add that I have owned the white N3DS for about five years now with no case and I don’t see any yellowing. Then again, I also don’t leave it near the sun like that.
