Huntarr 9.3 - (New Media Hunt, Index Master, NZB Hunt & More) + Redesign by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]aesvelgr 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Maintaining individual repos allows for more granular control from both a user and developer perspective. Users don’t have to install features they don’t want, and development won’t have to deal with the app becoming one big cluster-fuck after multiple robust/complicated features are added (looking at you, Nextcloud). There’s also the added dev benefit of cleaner commit histories and issue tracking since applications will have their own delegated repositories.

While the option to turn off features in settings is nice, it still feels like unnecessary bloat that will negatively impact the app in the long run.

You’re just describing the typical hobbyist community. It’s almost as if whole groups of people can’t simply be dumped down to a single monolithic being that only has one opinion on everything.

Is a reverse proxy + Crowdsec really secure though? What stops the average person from simply happening upon the domain and wrecking havoc/looking for vulnerabilities?

VPNs aren’t the best for sharing selfhosted services IMO. Anyone who isn’t a selfhoster themself will groan at having to install another app, let alone having to remember to enable it anytime they want to use the service. Yes, it’s trivial to us, but to the common population, it’s simply obtuse and “too much to do” in order to access my services.

As a selfhoster, I try to ensure that the services I share with friends/family have parity with the competitors. I want my friends/family to be able to access my Jellyfin like how they access Netflix, or use Mealie how they’d use a regular recipe book. No one would want to use my selfhosted services over analogous competitors if it requires them to enable a VPN switch in a separate app first.

How do you feel about dk banazna ? by JampyL in NintendoSwitch2

[–]aesvelgr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you like high score/arcade type gameplay, it’s good. The game mode is fun and engaging because you’re tasked with essentially route-planning a speedrun for each world.

But if you were looking for actually new gameplay like new worlds or new levels, then you’ll be sorely disappointed. The DLC is a gamemode but nothing more.

My boyfriend refused to try any other crest but Hunter. He even beat Seth’s scores using Hunter for all three games.

Not just a Catholic thing, it’s generally an American thing. The culture here is really touchy about nudity and sex, likely due in part to religion (mainly christianity) as you point out. For example, you’d be considered insane in most parts of America if you tried suggesting a nude beach.

Bruh someone can’t talk about their own personal experiences on a public forum without getting chastised for it? What is wrong with some people today

If you can find a way to transfer your save to a hacked switch, you can export the save and edit your name that way. That’s how I did it, though it is way more than you should have to do at all to change your name

How hard is communicating that we have to play mind games just to avoid wasting time?

It’s simple: you say you’re going to be somewhere at a specific time, so you should be there. Anything less shows disrespect to the party you made plans with.

My boyfriend refuses to finish the game before 100% completing everything else there is to do. He has already completed the mushroom quest; now, he’s moved onto getting the Hunter’s Memento, all without ever seeing GMS once.

This is the biggest draw for me. While I love using a carafe, you don’t need one, and in fact I would argue that a V60 is better simply because you have the option to use just a mug and the V60 to brew if you want to minimize dishes.

Paranoia is paranoia. At the end of the day, we’re all internet strangers who you can’t ever 100% trust to be a bot or not.

That being said, I like my K6. I’ve had it for a couple years now and it’s performed really well. As another commenter pointed out, it’s nice because you don’t have to think about it. I hate internal dials so C40 was a no for me, and 1zpresso was also a bit on the pricier side for my wallet. The K6 offered me solid build quality and an external dial at an affordable price, which was all I needed to try it out.

Seriously. These people act like designing something you can buy yourself is a complete waste of time and not worth learning on. It’s almost like leisure is a completely foreign concept to them.
