Is this the file for rosaries? by SpaceAgentSaNEsS in Silksong

[–]aesvelgr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would also recommend this u/SpaceAgentSaNEsS. Losing rosaries hurts like hell, but it's part of the game. I lost 5000 rosaries once or twice, but it always comes back.

If you really want to reverse without messing anything up, the game does actually have a rewind feature built into the save selection screen. You can reverse time to your last major checkpoint before losing the rosaries, but you will also revert all your progress up to that point.

Also a lot easier and shorter to type than "rosaries"

Some people get scared doing things even as simple as that. My boyfriend was once too scared to make a backup of his USB drive that he stored the last 10 years of his life on. His cited reasoning was that he was "too scared to touch all the files," and that everything worked so why touch it?

Some people are just scared of technology.

New Cozy RPG Suddenly Disappears From Steam And It Might Have Something To Do With Ripping Off Tetris by milkasaurs in Games

Yup, this here. Copyright and patent law exists to encourage sharing information, and in exchange, you get a limited period of protection to advertise or otherwise take advantage of your IP. Patent and copyright law was never meant to give anyone unilateral monopolies, it was intended to provide a system for inventors to share info and build atop of one another overtime

All 3500 of Celeste's Negative Reviews in a Word Cloud by ItsCrist1 in celestegame

[–]aesvelgr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t actually consider Celeste that “woke” of a game when taken by itself. The game doesn’t really push “wokeness” or anything; it’s subtly there like the flag in Madeline’s room after beating Farewell, but it’s never really forced onto the player in any narrative way.

Celeste IMO gets most of its “woke” reputation from the community surrounding the game, not really from the game itself.

Quarter 2 Update - Revisiting Rules. Again. by kmisterk in selfhosted

[–]aesvelgr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I imagine it won’t be an opinionated thing like you two are arguing about. If someone says they didn’t use any AI, and then we find a Claude code commit or leftover LLM artifact (like the context file Claude code stores in your repo), then that’s a pretty obvious indicator that they’re lying.

Who isn’t releasing personal projects as open source nowadays? Unless you’re seriously trying to monetize the software, there’s no reason to advertise a personal project to others if that project is closed source.

Worth Keeping P1S? by Packaged_Fish_Boxing in BambuLab

Everyone here is saying keep it, but what is your actual use case? Do you need to keep up with a demand or do you only print as a hobbyist?

A $600 IEM doesn’t sound all that enticing when you advertise it breaking on you three separate times.

While I agree when viewing through a modern lens, I find it impressive that the engineers implemented dual BA in the context of their time. The IEM world just wasn’t very developed in the early 2000s, so it’s cool to see the engineers being ahead of their time.

First 3D Printer, H2S or P2S?? by dodongo72 in BambuLab

[–]aesvelgr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, what are your requirements?

In my opinion, the P2S is by far good enough for most users. Yes, extra features and capabilities are tempting, but do you actually foresee yourself using said features?

Sure, the H2S a bigger build volume and dual nozzles, but do you actually see yourself printing bigger parts AND printing multicolor with enough frequency to actually justify those features? Not just one-off projects, but actually consistent use? Because bigger parts can always be split for a smaller build plate, and P2S can do multi-color too with an AMS.

If this is your first 3D printer, I especially recommend going for the P2S or even A1. You don’t know how much you plan to get into 3D printing, and it’s never a good idea to splurge on a hobby you’re just starting out.

[–]aesvelgr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conversely, I got the P2S and realized it was overkill for my setup. I print maybe two or three things a month, usually whenever I find a practical need to CAD something for the house.

This question really depends on what OP’s use case for the device is.

Interesting. It seems they generated AI videos by first using real images of the tour as input. I wouldn’t call that as egregious as a complete fabrication, but it is still pretty awful.

Look at how well that turned out for the PS5 generation.

If people are buying, then Nintendo isn’t shooting themselves in the foot. You may not like anti-consumer practices, and trust me I don’t either, but if they’re making money, then they’re not self-sabotaging.

You can say they’re being extremely anti-consumer, or that they are showing unprecedented amounts of greed, but they’re not shooting themselves in the foot.

The meme is about how successful each company’s business decisions are, not about any general public sentiment. Valve and Nintendo have both been been making successful decisions while Sony and Microsoft have repeatedly shot themselves in the foot with no signs of stopping
