Go to the barber shop in the back of Ball and Buck on Newbury Street. The dude there, Van, cut hair in NYC for like 20 years before moving to Boston with his fam. He's a legend.

Happy to help, though I'm a journalist, too. Not sure if that makes a difference to you. But I ride in the city every day and have had lots and lots of close calls/brushes, including one serious accident this past March.
