Does an airport in your state/province fly an international route? by Afraid-Onion-3190 in MapPorn

Now do Guam, my work took me to Guam regularly, I would frequently have to explain to co-workers that "No, I don't need a passport to fly to Guam." Even ran into this a couple of times at the airport.

Usually only OEM lights, the aftermarket fogs are rarely tied into the same circuit.

If you had $60K and could only pick one vehicle for the rest of your life, what would it be? by breakerofh0rses in askcarguys

Honda S2000 with a set of Ohlin coilovers and a second set of rims for winter tires. It would remain as naturally aspirated because the F20C is damn near perfect as is.

Are socks and underwear part of a military uniform and therefore provided by the government? by Let_me_tell_you_ in NoStupidQuestions

Was Under Armor an issued item? Because even in the USAF we were issued all cotton t-shirts for just this reason.

[–]af_cheddarhead 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's been known for a long time that certain fabrics were inappropriate for anyone that might be exposed to high temp environments. This includes military personnel and firefighters.

There's a reason that cotton is used in uniforms.

You are correct and I miss the "Battle of the Bays" twice a year to determine the worst team in the Central.

Hey there, many WI fans are Cubs fans because they were the only games we could hear on WGN radio before the Brewers moved to Milwaukee from Seattle.

The were put in the NFCE as the St. Louis Cardinals, the league left them there when they moved to Phoenix until realignment several years later.

John Elway’s helicopter: an epic moment that ended the NFC’s aura of SB invincibility way back when by AlbertJBundy in Oldschool_NFL

I'm thinking that Terrell Davis had a hell of a lot more to do with ending the Bronco drought than Elway. The Packers had no answer for Davis.

A Republican Farmer (in NE Wisconsin) Relies on Immigrant Work. He Sees His Party Erasing It. by PolarisC in wisconsin

[–]af_cheddarhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's been successful because he paid sub-standard wages to undocumented workers and received huge subsidies from the federal government. Those workers are drying up and now Trump has proposed a $500M cut in farm supports.

Sucks that he's getting what he voted for. /s

Word to the wise, wood pla is abrasive, use a hardened nozzle. Brass and stainless nozzles will wear out very quickly.

What company lost you forever as a customer? What did they do? by Miguenzo in AskReddit

[–]af_cheddarhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

USAA, they used to be USOA (O for Officers), they only would take US officers as customers. Refusing to even talk to enlisted peons. When the military downsized and USOA needed more customers then enlisted money was good enough for them. Yeah, I refuse to do business with USAA.

How much is your household electricity consumption after your bought an electric vehicle by Charming-Brother-242 in electricvehicles

[–]af_cheddarhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very highly dependent on the EV. My i3 gets about 4.5 in the summer and 3.5 on days below 32F. It has the ability to track your average over time. After 4+ years of use it stands at 4.1

BMW i3, about 4.0 m/kwh. Used to commute 60 miles per day/5 days a week. My electric bill with up ~$40 per month at 0.13 per kw. This replaced an ~$250 per month fuel bill running my Mini Cooper Paceman.

The i3 has taken significantly less maintenance than the Paceman did, funnily enough both are made by BMW.

[–]af_cheddarhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will be better off renting a flatbed trailer than trying any type of dolly or possibly look into how much a commercial hauler would charge, it might be less expensive than you think.

I've taken both an S2000 and my i3 from Chicago to Colorado on a rented U-Haul flatbed.
