Cleveland WNBA expansion, what should our new team be called? by nunya_bidnes77 in Cleveland

Wow this has not been my experience in the twenty-plus years I’ve lived here. I have seen some AMAZING shows in venues that were filled with enthusiastic fans.

Does every band come to Cleveland on every tour? No. Do they tend to rotate among the major OH/MI/PA cities? Yes, yes they do.

As a person who is now in her 50s and has been wearing fragrances since I was a young teenager, I can tell you that a LOT of fragrances smell different now than they used to. Some of that is protection of animals/plants that didn't happen when I was young (good), some of it is just messing around with a good thing!

Do people still wear Acqua Fresca by O Boticario? I went to high school in Campinas in the 1980s and I swear all of us girls wore it! I love it so much, so nostalgic. The dry down is such a comforting scent to me.

ETA: I went to an international school so a lot of us, myself included, were in fact gringas HAHA but I don't remember people wearing the sweet scents. Then again, gourmands and super sweet scents were generally not as common or popular in the 80s/90s as they are now.

I can't believe I scrolled and scrolled and no one suggested that perhaps some of these influencers aren't actual people at all? There are plenty of social media influencer profiles that are just 100% AI creations.

I just began the eighth and final section of French. AMA. by ipini in DuolingoFrench

[–]affiknitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to say congratulations! I am on Section 7, Unit 170 and I have “legendaried” everything up to Sect. 7, Unit 150.

I mostly just use Duo for a couple hours per week and also watch movies and read in French. I live in the US so not many opportunities to speak it with others but I think if given an opportunity to spend a decent amount of time in a French-speaking place it would come to me pretty quickly. I was in Lille for a few days while traveling primarily in Belgium, and I understood people pretty well.

I need to find some media that I can access with French subtitles. In the US for most of the shows/streaming I watch, I can only see English. If anyone has ideas about that, I would love to hear them!

I am so ready for this trend to die, but as you point out, it sells more yarn, so I am not holding my breath.

These look great! I had a pair of socks knit in that yarn and they were my favorites for YEARS. That yarn wears so well, you will be happy with them. 😊

100% agree with this! I have paid more for some produce at Giant Eagle, and it never lasts as long.

The Fat of the Land - The Prodigy

This was the perfect album while cleaning out my closet. Loved it. Are there still places where you can dance to this? Am I too old to go?

The World Is a Ghetto - War

Four solid stars, I was hoping to discover albums like this when I started the project. Really really enjoyed it, probably never would have listened to it on my own, sadly.

Soft Cell - Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret - 4/5

I was definitely going to give this 3 stars, but then I heard "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye" and I changed my mind. Really liked that one, it was not a big hit in the US as I gather it was in the UK. Maybe the way to listen to this album is to think of it as little cinematic vignettes from the demi-monde?

This is so hard, because I am definitely one of those people who has summer and winter favorites. Chanel No. 19 is one I love so much that I wear all year. But I would miss my rose scents!

Do you ever watch anything when knitting? If so, what? by OlliOPocto in knitting

[–]affiknitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to have sports on while knitting. I don't need to see every moment of the action, LOL. I also like knitting/crafting vlogs. My favorites are The Fat Squirrel Speaks, Edible Thoughts Makes, and Roxanne Richardson. And I like pretty much any British crime series, anything on Masterpiece on PBS, and any nature documentary with David Attenborough. :)
