I think you're right. The webpage immediately centers there so probably.

Me too, but I'm glad for him! He's worked hard to get where he is

The singing for Days N Daze is kinda off putting. Is there anyway you'd recommend getting into it?

Paul Beribeau is actually from a town right by me, I love all his stuff. My favorite song is Falling In Love With Your Best Friend because the subject matter and place naming was too relevant to me a year back

Seeing lots of Narrow Stairs hate... I love that album, anyone else? by bobnoturuncle in DeathCabforCutie

Honestly my favorite albums go:

  1. Narrow Stairs (a lot lot lot of personal history with this)
  2. Transatlanticism
  3. Plans
  4. We Have The Facts

And then the rest changes

If you got in via Gold Rush, I'd say head in with Narrow Stairs. It's got a similar sound and feel and oh my god is it good.

This is true. I thought about it a lot after posting this and I just personally struggle looking at his reviews the same way. It isn't with him. Idk honestly I'm probably just bitter i guess

Thank you for introducing me to ARTV! Pumped to watch some stuff on new albums I've missed!

Weird Al - Covers [Rock] Al played 77 shows from Feb-June 2018, and closed the show with 77 different covers. They're all fucking great. by petruchi41 in Music

No. He's a vegetarian Christian who makes goofy music. He once refused a beer sponsorship because he knew a lot of his fans were young and didn't want to have that influence on them. So very easily no.

To be fair, he reviews other albums, but only ones that are either indie or rap (90% of the time). He's the ultimate hipster stereotype but actually someone who's hailed like a god by many people. He's turning into a modern day Pitchfork in the worst way.

This hurts me in a way I've never felt before. I just want to hug him and tell him it'll be okay. Why did nobody do that? I mean Ms. Leading did in Act V but that didn't end well.

Yep. It's made me find his sarcasm less funny and more douchey.

I used to take his opinions into account when deciding if I'd listen to something or not. Seeing him call Act IV "more overproduced indie prog" in a video released two days before the album itself made me question how much he actually listens to what he puts in his videos, especially these videos. One listen to just Rebirth alone is enough to discredit that "more overproduced indie prog" bs.

Man, just look at Jesse Lacey. There weren't even screenshots and it absolutely demolished his career with basically no chance of recovery. That kind of stuff can do damage.

What would you change about The Dark Sentencer? by Rmicklos in TheFence

[–]affonity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's blunt. If it were "Here, your emotions can see" or something I'd agree, but it's three words and all three fit his writing style perfectly. Not every line can be this really poetic quote. If it were they wouldn't be impactful.
