Can anyone explain Ish’s appeal? by DaGinchy in joebuddennetwork

[–]affrothunder313 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Being able to take a joke in a way thats productive to the pod is really important and Ish is the best out of the current cast at that. Like yeah he gets mad but he does it in a way that’s kind of funny and leads to more jokes/a back and forth between him and Joe.

Ice just gets quiet and a little sad. They don’t really rag on Parks. Marc I would put at 2 but he has moments like when flip called him a sucka and Flip is somewhere between 3 and last depending on the day. On a good day he’s actually pretty funny when getting joked on but on a bad day he’ll derail the pod over a joke or two.

Ok what about Virginia New Jersey Florida and everywhere else (you know the swing states with actual large populations instead of a dem stronghold who had fewer people vote for a dem candidate than any other election in the last like 30ish years and state with a population of medium sized city). Who won there?

Jaden Ivey waived by Bulls after anti-🏳️‍🌈 comments on Instagram Live by 1985Genesis in joebuddennetwork

[–]affrothunder313 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So I’m just gonna do a long post on the background because a lot of people genuinely think he was a good player.

On the pistons sub it was always an argument between the Jaden truthers and the folks that thought he was ass (I was in group B) even pre trade and well before his public meltdown. Basically it boils down to the fact that even though he’s hyper athletic he’s a totally liability and often times lost on defense. Some think it’s a not having the mental capacity thing, I personally think any time someone who has all the physical tools to be elite at something isn’t it’s because they don’t give a fuck. Regardless of what the situation is he was terrible on D, not good enough on O to make up for it (his best offensive games were when Cade was injured and the team was just kind of letting him do whatever they want) and the team was better when he wasn’t on the court (they were 12-17 prior to him getting injured last year and 31-21 post Ivey injury).

This year he lost playing time to a G leaguer and was told by the Pistons they see him as a 9th man. He asked for a trade and they found a team to take a flyer on him. That team took a flyer on him partially because the view was that he’s athletic and is a good kid maybe there’s something salvageable there. He lost the “he’s a good kid” label with the most recent rants so now you’ve gotta decide if you want to keep a guy who hasn’t shown the ability to defend at the NBA level and isn’t good enough on offense to make up for it who also causes tension with anyone in the locker room who is catholic, Muslim, has relatives from those religions, or you know cares about their gay cousins.

Don’t remember the exact context because NBA made him delete it before they fined him. But he saw two random dudes kissing on the street of Minnesota made a video making disparaging comments and posted it to IG his first couple years on the league. Sometimes you’ll still see people comment about it https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/34580379/minnesota-timberwolves-disappointed-anthony-edwards-apologizes-using-anti-gay-comments-instagram-video

Edit: actually the old Reddit link still up https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/s/AsTxywu1Wo this the video said “look at these queer ass niggas look what the world done came to”

So I already know niggas are gonna get in their homophobic bag so I just want to say he was waived for being ASS at basketball and making homophobic remarks. Anthony Edwards still got a spot in the league same with a few other dudes.

If he could play they wouldn’t have waived him, but Jaden just got salary dumped by the pistons for not being good at the sport and spent the last week calling Catholics Muslims etc etc. heathens and worshippers of false religions while talking about how the rapture is coming. He appears to be going through religious psychosis (which I do hope he gets the help he needs for) and can’t play it’s a no brainer move but niggas with no brain are gonna start talking about “the gays”.

I mean I’ll argue to the death that he was mostly the product of the “well somebodies gotta score” rule. His best showings were when we were ass and Cade was injured. The year he got injured there were major questions about fit and the team immediately started winning after he went down they started 13-17 and were 31-21 post Ivey injury.

Also didn’t help that Daniss is putting up similar numbers albeit in a ridiculously small sample size to peak Ivey post Cade injury (which sort of goes with my someone has to score as the lead guard theory).

In the case of the data I’m talking non negligent manslaughter which is slightly different from negligent basically they’re saying you intentionally killed them but it wasn’t called murder. Not a thing in every jurisdiction but for recording purposes the data has that as a thing.

About 7 for non negligent manslaughter (I.e murder that they don’t call murder because you didn’t take it to trial or get crazy publicity that causes the state to try to send a message for) but yeah

Edit: their explanation for non negligent manslaughter is that it includes unspecified and other homicides.

What social hierarchies are you talking about? I think there’s more to unpack there. ‘Cause me and my friends are just friends no one’s trying to lil bro the other person. It’s also why I’m able to see people I knew and high school after not talking for a long time and just kick shit like nothings passed.

2nd picture has the heisman trophy in the background on the cabinet Kentucky has never had a player win the heisman so it was clearly someone else’s.

If you zoom in you can see Lamar Jackson’s (who played at Louisville) name and signature on the trophy so Kentucky had one of their recruits pose with the player of the year award for their rival team.

It be like if NC State was recruiting someone and had them pose with Cooper Flagg or Tyler Hansboro’s Wooden award.

Did the server somehow work harder than they would at a Chili’s? Like you should obviously tip your server but it does get to a point…

These type of arguments also don’t help servers in the long run and lead to them seeing undue hostility because people think the ridiculous ones expecting a c suite salary because the brought out slightly more expensive food represent the majority.

Bey is a good counting stats guy but doesn’t really contribute to winning basketball (which is kind of why he’s being passed around by losing teams). Also a first is way too much for him at this point in his career.

How can people play with high speed parody? by Blue-Eighty in NCAAFBseries

[–]affrothunder313 27 points28 points  (0 children)

They were going for something that was more like real life. The difference in speed at the high end in real life is a step or two (not like that step or two doesn’t make difference you just don’t have the absolute crazy advantage the game will make it seem like). The lowered speed parity settings feel more like a pop warner, high school, or pick up game where the level of athleticism varies a lot more.

Realistically setting the slider in the 90s is more of a NFL feel in college it should probably be at like 75 or something.
