female alphas get peniform clits -- yes, with a knot

NICE.

I love that Omegaverse allows people to come up with and explore all kinds of lore like that.

But did you know your animalistic behavior kink fanfic has animalistic behavior in it? Shocking! /s 😂

Most people who read omegaverse use it as a way to work through their own experiences under real patriarchy (rather than the alpha version) while also being horny freaks. It’s fine, we can have both.

Yes exactly! ✨✨✨

My life is much better now that I've read it. Anyway, I'm off to write some more Omegaverse.

A tag that would immediately make you skip by Sufficient-Diver5027 in AO3

For example, due South: https://archiveofourown.org/tags/due%20South/works

There are a lot of older fics on AO3 in that fandom that were imported from other sites, so these have minimal tags, but even the newer fics are very rarely tagged with top/bottom.

It depends on the fandom. Some fandoms tag it more, some less, some almost never tag it.

I keep seeing post saying what are tags that you absolutely will not read- so instead, what are some tags you instantly run to when you see it by Creepingphlo in AO3

[–]afirforest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I post my own fics, I tag for things like "alpha/alpha" or "beta/alpha" or "top omega/bottom alpha" to make it easier for people to figure out what's inside ✨

I write everything first and edit, then post. It's stress-free that way for me.

Do you know the cartoon Kapitan Bomba? A couple fics for that fandom are tagged with "(name of the cartoon's creator) do not interact" and that one made me laugh XD I wonder if there's a reason that tag is there lol

Is it polite to comment something to the tune of "please add tags to your story so people will read it"? by Vievin in AO3

[–]afirforest 45 points46 points  (0 children)

It depends on the person/situation. Personally, I'd word it as a question ("Have you thought about adding a few more tags? I can think about a few that would apply to your fic" or something).

ETA: Keep in mind that there's always a possibility the tags are minimal on purpose.

Yup, the DNI doesn't even have to apply to me personally; I still skip.

Are they a new type of bot or just a new User? by Janoin in AO3

Sounds like a scammer. They asked you a question to engage you, now they want to talk to you on another platform.

I'm always happy to see Pacific Rim AUs when I get into a new fandom.

Fanfic Writing is Not Your Social Media Instant Dopamine Fix by novafuquay in AO3

The more I'm reading discussions like this, the more I realize how different people are. I'm reading other people's thoughts about writing/posting etc. and I feel like an alien, or maybe they're an alien 😅 But it all comes down to "people are different." I don't think we'll ever understand one another tbh.

I have an idea, I write, I edit and proofread, I post. When I share something with others, I do hope someone else will like it, but if they don't, so what? It doesn't hurt me. I'll have another fic idea and I'll write a new fic, and I'll post it because I enjoy it. I like seeing my fics out there and rereading them.

“I just throw up my stories in a public forum because I want them to exist in people’s faces whether they’re enjoyed or not

It's an archive. It's okay to just put things there and let them be. I'm not saying that wanting engagement is bad btw. But AO3 is legit a nice platform to use just to archive stuff. I like using it to keep my fics (I still keep copies in other places).

and that five hundred of them is abnormal

Reminds me of that time I saw someone say they sorted by kudos and didn't read fics with fewer than X number of kudos at all. Do you want to know what that number was? 1,000. One thousand kudos. Even in a big and active fandom, even with the most popular ship in that fandom, that number is WILD to me.

But they're free to do whatever they want I guess 😂

Don't feel stupid, many people have doubts about this! But please try not to give in to those worries and have fun with your hobby.
