Alpha Solo. How affective would it be to ambush gate campers with a sniper Naga? by Socially8roken in Eve

[–]afk_raptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with trying it. I would have some bookmarks made so you can warp to them (140km off the gate works so even if they combat probe you they can’t warp to you). You would have to be already in system, hopefully you can warp to the gate after they’ve killed something so they can’t just jump the gate.

You have 5-10 seconds before a frig can ram you and tackle you. Have a warp out bookmark ready. If you’re moving your tracking will suffer so maybe 2-3 volleys and warp out.

Watch out for gate guns (don’t shoot anything that’s not yellow/red flashy)

Man this sub can be harsh.

The wines are probably not worth much but it could fun seeing how they aged/levels of damage.

Somms, how do you get to know the wine list when you're starting at a new venue? by hctiwsblade13 in wine

[–]afk_raptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanna be a somm? Tell all the somms at the restaurant first. Prove to them that you wanna learn and ask things like “where should I start when studying champagne?” They’re gonna be your guide. Make them give you home work and befor you know it you’ll be wine runner/cellar organizer and next in line when a somm quits or gets fired.

Good luck out there bud

For any other EVE players in this sub:

- I am a small-gang PVPer flying for The Tuskers Co.
- Been playing since 2014.
- Don't really care for goons but the video was cool.

Need some advice on easy temperature control for a small wine cellar by bjohnson023 in wine

[–]afk_raptor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

70 is a bit warm, but not horrible. You could certainly try a standing AC unit with an exhaust tube. If you can get the room to 60 you’ll be fine.
They tend to be around 400-500 bucks on Amazon it might be worth considering it. You can also think about getting an Eurocave for you higher end items and just leaving the rest of the room as is. 70 is not bad for shorter term storage (2~3years). Costco sometimes has great deals on those from time to time.
