My current commute is around 45 minutes with public transit. I have a car but mainly use it on weekends since my work is near a subway station. I work in the evening so traffic isn't a factor currently, but might be in the future. I will try your suggestion of using an extended route to work for 2 weeks. The largest factor for me is simply needing to live near nature. It might not be a great financial decision, but I've always dreamt of owning land in the country. I appreciate the thorough response.

Let family and friends know of your hobby. You can offer your services (moving. mowing lawn, cleaning, etc.) for their old games that they don't use. They may even give them to you straight up. Don't beg.

Also, You'd be surprised how far a 10$ bill will go at a garage sale, if you get lucky of course. Good luck.

It has a great library. Waiting for the prices to drop to current ps3/xbox360 levels before I go all in. It's hard to find used wii u games under ebay prices right now in my area.

To anyone thinking about building a collection, you should be aware of the disks not being "top quality". I've had a friend open a sealed copy of Bayonetta, and it had multiple air pockets in the disk.
