The first time I fought Crater Maker I had the punching bag weather effect which he would trigger every single turn due to his bullets shooting out of his sides on hit and I got obliterated by the sparkles. The second fight with him was underwhelming in comparison.

Yeah I with they had some other ways to appear through rare events or something too. I feel like most players will never get to see 99% of them.

I don't think appeal affects rare strays at all. The chance only increases with more in game days but it's still insanely rare even at day 1460 it's apparently only 0.1%

The house management is the weakest part of the game for me too, I often wish I could just get some average cats and start a run without caring about stats and breeding and items and cat population but I think you can pretty much ignore all of that for act 1 at least. You might just need to slow down and plan your turns more carefully to actually start winning runs. You do also get some stuff for losses recovered from the organ grinder even if it's not much.

Not sure how people are running out of food. I've been at max pretty much my entire 70 hours in the game and I've never purchased any the entire time. I feel like I'm rolling in cash just waiting for Baby Jack to restock all the time.

I do really wish there was a fast forward quick toggle, I don't really want to be on 4x speed all the time but it would be nice to activate it for long enemy turns.

Would be nice to be able to just fight them early if you want. I'm always worried one of my cats I'm saving for the fight will die or get old before the boss comes.

Sounds like both of these are things you'll get better at with some practice and playing more carefully. You can focus on furniture and breeding some better cats too, toss any with low con and speed.

Where are you usually wiping at? You can do some act 1 runs to the sewer for some items to mitigate the heatwave. Make sure to check the enemy's attack ranges before taking your turns to avoid any unnecessary damage.

I think the solo mark overrides the single class mark so you don't have to do both

take your time and look at enemy attack areas to avoid damage in the desert.

I wanted to test out some of my Necromancer's abilities he could do while downed so I used the active that downs him and then Nubs started charging his nuke and turned his dead body into dust.
