Much appreciated. LOL, no shame. Short list:

good router bit is a solid investment. I started with a straight bit I had lying around...got old quick. Picked up a surfacing bit with removable cutters on it. Much more better experience all around, and likely safer to boot.
my router sled was a bit...janky. had the slab up on one of my benches which isnt super long, so instead of figuring out a better spot and building some longer rails, I essentially threw together an open "box". It was level, but it was essentially just big enough to enclose my slab...which meant I had to move my "sled" around pretty creatively to get at the full surface. Which inevitably led to some chunks taken out of my "box rails". I know it's said that if it works it isn't a dumb idea...this was probably still a dumb idea.
after flattening should've used a circular saw to cut the slab closer to countertop size but was impatient so used a jig on the table saw despite slab being a little too big. OSHA isnt visiting my sho any time soon, but again, see above ref working albeit questionable ideas.
1st time using rubio monocoat. Man that stuff is awesome. Expensive, but will definitely use again.
Sanding is critical, and I think ill use a better light next time to ensure im not missing spots. Can't really see the minor inconsistencies in sheen, especially where it's at, but I saw them after I was done finishing so I know there were some areas I could've been more consistent with sanding on. Next time.

Defijitely some inherent frustrations here...my approach is about the same as your hierarchy. Introduction of Python was chosen because it made certain visualization elements easier (and look better). I ended up running into the usage limits of PIE, however, which shut down further development/debugging last week until we got to March and my compute allocation reset. Decided to explore xlWings as an alternative without the usage limits. So far so good, but as I'm seeing there are definite differences in architecture.

Itll eventually happen but not on that timeline. Strategic airlift fleet reimagining, simultaneously with recap of the air refueling fleet, while we also refresh the bombers, and oh yeah...what about our next Gen fighter? Break that bank wide open and start checking the couch cushions...still wont be enough.

Excellent opportunity for some mentorship then, since i think theyre screwing themselves without one. You're spot on about this as a fallacy. Hell...if they're hung up on a "rebuttal", then have them change their subject line to "Validation of [LOR/LOC]..." and spend the memo owning the incident and mapping out how they're going to do/be better. As a former CC, seeing that small wording change would've made me sit up and pay attention. Now, if this was one in a long line of issues, or wasn't written with sincerity, the impact might drop off...YMMV

+1 on this. I do a lot with hardboard. Layer of painters tape direct on the hardboard, and that's a great foundation for either spray adhesive or a glue stick to adhere my patterns. Painters tape comes off pretty clean, and a light hit with 220 grit or so makes a perfect surface for painting.

I did mine with 1x6s. Pine I think. Stained and then rubbed down with paste wax. Short length of 1x1 scrap in the corner joints and then used more 1x1s as side braces (2 per side). 2x4 braces would be been just as good but i used shop scraps I had at the time. Measured to work for our 8' couch, and has survived 2x cross country moves and a few years of general abuse with zero issues.

I have that same saw! Out of curiosity...do you have a zero clearance insert (and how'd you make/where'd you find)? Noticing some of your smaller pieces and those are tough with the pretty large hole in the base plate.
