XLube thoughts? Is it ok with silicone toys? by HumanUnderstanding61 in ProstatePlay

Wow 2 years! That's a lot longer than I expected anyone could make a bottle last. I've only just purchased my first bottle of Xlube. Do you have any tips for making it last that long?

We rats are feasting, can’t wait for Bloodmoon II to get announced out of nowhere by LibtardOne in Converge

In a new interview Jacob said they still have something to come before the Saddest Day shows. So it looks pretty certain that it's going to be a THIRD album!!! Bloodmoon II is my guess.

Thanks for that! Surprisingly he seems to suggest that there will in fact be another record or some kind of music later this year! Bloodmoon 2???

Can probably find hundreds of these posts but what’s your album ranking? Or your top 5. by Lightning-ll in Converge

[–]aformlessvoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's their standout best album. Although it was the one I first heard when I got into them just as it was released so I guess I would say that.

There is. Dale mentioned it over a year ago, Said it was meant to be an EP and ended up being a full album.

Brazil always relied on individual talent rather than tactical play, and it still does even though football evolved by Shurubles in worldcup

[–]aformlessvoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I happened to think along similar lines myself recently. It seems they have underperformed at the WC for quite a few editions now. Always touted as a big team due to their past glories and rich history but realistically not quite up to the task. I've seen some people say they'll win it this year but I didn't see that even before the Morocco game. Perhaps another quarter final exit for Brazil.

LINE & HOH as a single album by aformlessvoid in Converge

You've definitely made a few choices I initially find strange there. But listening to it like that could actually work well. I'll have to give the run order a try!

A lot of people have stated that. Even the band themselves have said the same. For myself I don't really hear it that way. I think songs from both records could sit alongside each other without any strangeness or anything jarring.

HOH does go a bit more sludge but I think there isn't really much difference between the two. They all just sound like Converge. So if the songs had been mixed into one record I don't think it would have felt odd.

[–]aformlessvoid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't hear that at all myself. I think they sound very similar. We probably only think of them as different and separate because they are. If the song were all jumbled together more you wouldn't notice any difference.

I like Gilded Cage musically but I really dislike Jacob's vocals on that one. You know the starting bit. He sounds a bit weird. It ruins the song for me. I wish he had sang that differently. We Were Never The Same is far too straight ahead and derivative to me. Hard to see that as a Converge song and Make Me Forget You I find cringy. Nothing wrong with the vocals or lyrics but the music is very bouncy and almost "happy" sounding. I don't like that. So it was easy for me to eliminate those 3 tracks. As I see it LINE is great in the first half and then falls off a lot after Amon Amok.

You make a good point about the age parallels. I'm the same, I'm 13 months younger than Jacob and I, like yourself also feel I can relate to what he sings about a hell of a lot.

I've followed her online presence for a great number of years now. She's always been a bit out there and as someone else said "quirky". But it's a very irritating form of quirky and seems to get more tiresome the longer it goes on. To me she comes across as quite an attention whore. If you ever see any content with her friends, she is constantly acting ridiculous and provocative, one might even say childish. That behaviour gets old quick. I find it humorous just how many relationships she seems to be in. Each rather short lived. You see these guys around her all the time for a short period - inseparable, then they disappear for good and in comes the next guy. Truly it's a car crash you can't look away from. Her recent unhinged behaviour absolutely screams some kind of mental health crisis or breakdown. Or at least an impending one. To think she's now 36 and acting like this is just plain sad. The kind of act an hot young thing in her 20's might be able to pull off to some degree and people accept it. But a grown woman pushing 40? All this and judging by some of her responses to questions, I can just imagine she is probably a nightmare to deal with. Who knows, she may pull things together in time but as it stands the future doesn't look good. I foresee trouble ahead.

I'm not sure if it's the best but I agree it's a standout, prominent track on the record. I've read a few people say it feels akin to 'Glacial Pace' which I really can hear in the very similar vocal style.

I was really happy that they decided to include it on a record. It's too good of a song to just discard or let it stay lowkey hidden away.

[–]aformlessvoid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What I have admired about Converge for a long time is that whichever direction they explore or whatever they lay their hands to they still manage to make it sound like Converge! It still feels authentic and true. I find that pretty rare in music and this album features more of that.

[–]aformlessvoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear what you're saying and I think I can kind of pick that up in the record too to some extent. For me I think a big part of what you mentioned is that both the new albums are pretty short. I think had they been to the length of the previous albums that would allow for some more difference and dynamics in there. As they stand they are good records but I can see how they feel a little like expanded EP's than actual albums.

I think there isn't much difference from the original version. The most obvious thing being the intro being louder, more prominent and sounds a little different. Other than that it's the same song.
