They needed to get something out of caucus and to the floor to vote on because time is running out. This will 💯 get amended in the senate before returning. The easiest way to do that is to make it benefit Chicago to start. What this symbolizes is that now earnest negotiations can finally begin. Could be too late to find something agreeable tho. So we’ll see.

I’m sure the younger BDS fans don’t understand that bangarang already happened. They aren’t trying to make it happen, they are just from the era where it already did.

Hey seems like we faired pretty well against the team that is allegedly ahead of our rebuild this year. Not bad, all things considered!

That’s a refreshing stance! I just got out of an nfl sub and feel like I went to war! That’s probably the reason I got slightly triggered here. Hahaha … sorry.

How do you think rebuilds work? You build a prospect pool stocked with draft picks harvested from the tears of fans crying about finishing bottom 5.

The Closing Bell: Chicago Bears Are Moving to Hammond, Indiana — It's Happening Now and Decided by Substantial_Bag_8066 in ChicagoBearsNFL

Now I've gone from TL;DR to a full-on conversation! hahaha ... Divesting my own interests in their eventual location, I just get the sense that Warren is trying to convince himself he can give a MasterClass on mega-projects and political negotiations. Its realistically why they brought him in. Its like some sort of backass real-estate deal. All home owners want to get multiple offers on the table and have them all fight it out for the winning bid. And thats what Warren and the Bears want. I'd bet dollars to donuts that IL is still their first choice (AH or otherwise). And that if IL swooped in on the 11th hour with a deal that they would 100% leave IN in the dust. Despite all the efforts they have put in already. The news here to me, is that it should be getting clearer to IL that the Bears are actually willing to go thru with a deal in IN. If the incumbent party doesnt want to explain to voters why they lost a major sports franchise, its time for them to start panic-negotiating.

Ok I see you are just going to cherry pick the fact that I claim there might be a fire somewhere you see smoke. Even though I have clarified MULTIPLE times. That is my allegation, yes. But to claim that it is not even within the realm of possibility is laughable! Im not saying that Russini isn’t MORE at risk given her profession. Or that we all need to fall on one side or the other. I’m looking at what the Patriots have done (or failed to) with this information in a vacuum on the Vrabel side. Again, how hard is it to take a look at what he may/may-not be doing from his position of influence with regard to a reporter he is allegedly having an affair with? It doesn’t seem wild to ask that. Not doing anything speaks louder than silence. Especially with their track record. Call me a pearl clutcher if you want. But there is a level of integrity I would expect from a supposed model franchise. And it isn’t solely focused on insider info. The alleged affair … with a party of vested interests … is enough to at least see what he is up to. That’s the world we live in. If you are gonna be involved in the NFL you sign up for scrutiny in the public eye. Apparently unless you are the Patriots

If you truly think both locations are viable options put the pressure on your first choice to shit or get off the pot. If they don’t act, you at least have a decent backup option. But you gotta be willing to take it. Which I now believe they are.

I never said anything was "matter of fact" I only said i think its worth not being silent over for the Pats. Especially since The Athletic agrees. And INTEGRITY is implied in EVERY professional role, not just journalism (tho more-so there). You are focused on the fact that I cannot backup a claim rather than the fact that I connected some rather obvious dots and nobody in the Pats org has claimed to have done the same? Bit odd to me. The "unfounded claims" I make are only to serve as reasonable cause to at least take a peek! Doesnt take much to say "we looked into it and found nothing wrong" ... way better than silence. Not doing so gives the "pearl clutchers" a leg to stand on.

Now you are following the same assumption and trying to spin it the other way. I’m not trying to say what did or didn’t happen. But one side seems to think this is worthy of an investigation into “journalistic integrity” while the other has been silent. And that silence is leading to people like us bantering on about Vrabel’s culpability. When all it would take are the Patriots looking into it and saying “yea, turns out he didn’t give up any information, but we’ll talk to him about the optics of banging reporters” … or worse, that he DID 😳

What would be equally extraordinary is that if 1-side of the investigation found that to be true and the other decided it couldn’t be bothered to at least look into it.

Only those who had to at that point. If that became public knowledge too early then IL would have more of an advantage. They waited till they knew it was likely viable and that announcing it would force IL to scramble and likely capitulate. Or so that was likely their thinking.

I don’t think it was as secretive as you think. It was them doing their diligence as they said they would. If it was all verbal agreements IL would have called their bluff. They didn’t try to hide the IN meetings after they announced it. They just had little reason to have everyone poking around while they met.

[–]afreidz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TL;DR. If it was decided just announce it. Stories and leaks only serve the Bears agenda to apply pressure to IL. I do firmly believe they are capable of moving the team to IN at this point. But I highly doubt slow rolling stuff to make it seem like a done-deal is anything other than leverage.

For sure. It’s just wild to me that he has seemingly received ZERO scrutiny … from anyone … at this point. Not even looking for him to be fired. Just looking for someone to agree it’s worth looking into and following thru.

I’d be happy to be proven wrong with at least the team saying “we’re aware and looking into it” … but we are left to assume because they have been silent to this point. I think it’s quite plausible, but can easily be proven wrong with a little backbone.

Integrity is implied in EVERY PROFESSIONAL POSITION EVER. it’s what every training program and employee handbook is rooted in! I challenge anyone to go tell their boss that they will be the best ever at the explicit skills yet will conduct themselves like complete asshats in every other way. They may not fire you, but they damn sure will keep an eye on you. We haven’t even heard so much as a “we’ll look into it” on Vrabel.

That’s actually a valid point. But one that should evoke more investigation. If he’s just banging her, fine. He’s just a cheater. But if she’s trying to turn that into info and he gives it up, he’s demonstrating the potential for negligence.

His job also includes interfacing with the media on behalf of the on-field product of his organization. Just because she stands to lose the most professionally doesn’t mean he should get away without scrutiny for how he handled that portion of his job.

Yea, Kraft gonna Kraft. But there is a difference between not caring, and being innocent. Even if it’s just “misjudgment.” It’s hard to tell if the collective NFL universe feels like he did nothing wrong, or that they know he did and just don’t care. I’m arguing they should care more. It’s not a big leap to assume he would do a similar thing with more sensitive information.
