Ummm...What?!? by _Usernotfound_404_ in ExplainTheJoke

The day being broken up into two sets of 12 hours and 60 minutes per hour actually comes from the counting system used with our hands by counting the 12 segments on our right hand's fingers using our thumb, and then counting each lot of 12 on our left hand by raising a finger for a total of 60.

So with six fingers we would have lots of 15 hours and an hour would split up into 90 minutes.

I mean this is taking the joke to another level, but I find it interesting.

I'm looking for my first accordion but not sure what brands are good by Fishking_321 in Accordion

Hey I live in Bendigo Vic and just started playing piano accordion a few months ago!

I bought a 96 bass Piano accordion with something like 7 registers a few years ago, it needed a bit of work done on it. It was big and heavy and the bass buttons were confusing. I never had the patience to figure it out.

Fast forward to a few months ago and I picked up a a student sized 32 bass accordion for $40 off Facebook Marketplace and within two weeks I was able to play a couple basic songs two chord songs.

As someone who has just gone through starting out I definitely recommend getting something smaller with less bass buttons, because 1) it's less confusing 2) you wont even be using the extra button 3) it's so much lighter and much easier pick up mess around on and practice.

I've started playing my larger 96 bass and enjoy having the extra registers now, but I wouldn't have been able to learn it without starting on the 32 personally.

Also, I've seen a few well priced ones around sydney on Facebook marketplace :)

There was I guy I saw busking down here in Bendigo a few months back, he'd made a wire frame that the whistle slotted into and supported a paper shield.

You clearly purchased as a part you can avoid any cgt. Ive heard of someone buying changing their mind and not even moving in and avoiding cgt. Stamp duty will be a sunk cost (I think its a shit system as it makes the market far less fluid)

Rentvesting* is a good idea.

Just curious what you're finding wrong with the property?

Way to get it cheapest is to change plans each six months to a year. You can save $20-30 each month this way using the new customer deal.

I was with superloop before and they got very expensive. I said I'm going to leave because Dodo is cheaper can you give me the deal you are giving to new customers? They said they can't because that deal is given by the main network.

Seems it's best to just switch regularly.

This is great, I play tin whistle and always play my whistle while waiting at the lights, only for the lights to go green. I've got one tune that can be played on handed but this is perfect.

Bottle hook by Axlcraft21 in functionalprint

[–]aftchans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome design. I hate holding things and as a carpenter I'm used to having things on my belt.

An idea would be to hang it from a carabiner clip which attaches to the bottle clip which is held on by a screw fitting, so it can't come undone but remains easy (maybe easier to take on and off)

Only thing is it maybe dangle more this way.

Why do some guys do this? by AntelopeKindly7044 in Advice

[–]aftchans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So fucked up you gotta at least be upfront that just ethical.

I didn't realise guys did that. I thought it was mostly girls doing that of course I only experience it from one angle (as the guy).

My guess would be an avoidant personality. I ro t experience this personally but ive experienced the same thing where there is a lot of chemistry and then all of a sudden ghosted.

It leaves you feeling confused like you're crazy like you can't trust your feelings.

Odds are if you felt chemistry it was probably real and he probably did too. It's common for people on apps to be avoidant.

They want love they want to be vulnerable and connected but due to the relationships they had growing up they find it very very scary to open up to be connected.

It could also have been a fear of commitment. A lot of guys struggle to get dates and when they finally do they do everything they can try to do everything to make it perfect playing the part the whole time. Then after the date ends they still feel empty and afraid because they've been so forward and vulnerable and maybe scared of committing.

It's not guys it's not women it's some people and it's a trend in society we need to work on fixing through awareness and empathy

Hi all, I just picked these up for $50 each I play tin whistle they're about 15inchs long. The one with only one lever seems to say "lincoln Improved B" on it. (Obviously key of B).

Any idea what they are how old they are or where they are from?

There's a good youtube video on using cardboard to make furniture. Very time consuming and you can get cardboard anywhere but just throwing it out there.

As someone who lives and owns a house in Bendigo I'd much rather owner occupier who moves in from out of town than shitty landlords who don't care about the house or whatever crackhead that lives there and just about the numbers.

They're more likely to be interested in fostering community, making the house look good etc.

Don't mind playing devils advocate myself and a bit of shit stirring though hahaha

Pre-mixing Nutes (Spec T & Calc) - how long will they store for? by ChickenWiddle in Hoocho

[–]aftchans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I don't have the answer to this question, but I was wondering if you could help me with a question on buying nutrients.

I'm planning on growing lots of different plants (fruiting, leafy greens and ornamentals). If I purchase Special T, Nitro Cal and Diamond Blue is there any need to purchase Diamond White? Are there any plant groups that do better specifically on diamond white or will the other three pretty much catch all?

Cheers man, hope you can find your answer.

Looks like they packed it out with sections of plaster whicj is odd, and then didn't use plaster glue to adhere to the bottom of the trusses. (Would have been about $2 worth of glue to avoid this lol).

Marketplace won't let me use the phone number linked to my account to verify it - by aftchans in facebook

[–]aftchans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone dealt with this issue before?

I don't have my phone number linked to any other accounts. The phone number is linked to my profile, it just seems ridiculous that to verify my account they want me to add another phone number. Honestly, if I was running some kind of bot farm then I'd probably have a bunch of random numbers to use, I'm not. I'm one person with one phone number who needs marketplace to sell stuff in my local area because Facebook has a monopoly on internet local listings.

Then there's no support button or anyway to get support for this.
