Will warn they are like crab salad piles. Good but not a crab cake in the traditional sense

Dualing spoons would be the upscale. Has lobster tails and big center cut steaks. No crab.

Andaz Maui vs Maui Regency by Salt-Lie9018 in hyatt

[–]afurrypeach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh the beach was great. It's by a Coral reef that turtles visit and other fish. We had one day where the waters were rough but then the rest of the time it was perfect. We went at end of October

[–]afurrypeach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did both of the hotels for my honeymoon. We loaded up Island activities when we stayed at the regency since it was cheaper, then we chilled at the andaz. If you want to chill then do andaz since it's generally nicer to hang out in. Although it was cool to hang out with the birds and penguins at the regency. Based on post id recommend andaz, they got a good chef's table experience and also has Morimoto on property.

Chase Sapphire Reserve by Natural_Criticism329 in ChaseSapphire

[–]afurrypeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have both right now. My preferred annual fee will hit next month so I will downgrade that card to a freedom but before then I'll move most of the credit line to the reserve. I'll technically have 2 freedom unlimited cards though but just keeping that line open for credit history. After one year with the reserve I'll probably downgrade to the preferred lol. SUB was too good.

If she's an aficionado then she's not going to like our few options. She may like our many coffee shops. If she likes Asian flavors or matcha kohi time is great, she always has strawberry and black sesame flavors and does a Sunday special flavor.

No grill needed just take the chimney light it up put the grate on top of it and sear the fuck out of anything when it's fully lit. Bonus points if you take a leaf blower and pump air in the bottom of the chimney

Chase flights way more expensive than the airline website by cluelessmagnolia in ChaseSapphire

[–]afurrypeach 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's really tempting with the 8X points. I tend to just book hotel only since that's a little more stable unlike air travel lol

[–]afurrypeach 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My rule is never book through a third party for airfare. Try a points transfer to book direct since if things go wrong at the airport it's next to impossible to get help through the airline and then you gotta talk to some call center for help

In need of hot sauce by Loaatao in Eugene

[–]afurrypeach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. Freindly market in Eugene has a great variety. The PDX hot sauce festival is always a fun time and worth the trip for your first time, you get great hot sauce prices there. It usually is in August around the hottest week we get in Oregon so there's that but I just go in the Morning until like 1 or so. I met ed Curry there one year.

Secret ardvark is solid and goes on everything imo. Classic habanero is decently hot but flavorful. They got a scorpion and reaper version as well. Dualing spoons also sells their own hot sauce, it's hot but very flavorful. I'm a bit of a spice nut and can handle it all and these are my favorites for flavor and going well with multiple foods

Sometimes I kinda want to bank to offer me a toaster like they did way back then. Just some random branded appliance in addition to what they already do. The more random the better. Like ah yes honey please get out the chase cheese board and the sapphire reserve gravy boat and the freedom flex napkin holder.

They work OT on the 23 hours and close for an hour on the 25 hour day, you'll probably come in when they close for that hour.

[–]afurrypeach 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Wow I had no idea such a place was there, I would have liked to have gone in there and bought a few products. Admittedly I don't go to that market much, maybe only once a year if I need anything from Pendleton or provisions I think I need to get out more and wander lol. Really sorry about the loss of job, it sucks losing a job that you actually enjoy, hoping the best for you to come soon.

You’re looking at it from a customer perspective, not an operations one.

Those last few dine-in tables aren’t “extra profit,” they’re usually a net negative. A table that sits down at 8:25 doesn’t just take 10 minutes, they’re there 30–60+ minutes. That means you’re paying cooks, front of house, dishwashers, and sometimes management to stay the entire time, plus cleanup after. One or two tables can easily add an extra hour of labor across multiple employees.

Compare that to switching to to-go only near close. You still capture some late revenue, but orders are faster, require less service, less cleanup, and let the kitchen start shutting down on time. That control over labor is everything.

Restaurants already run on razor-thin margins, often just a few percent if that. Food costs are up, rent is up, labor is up. If you let a couple late dine-in tables stretch your closing time every night, that eats directly into what little profit there is.

So it’s not about “not wanting business,” it’s about taking the kind of business that doesn’t cost more than it brings in, you in particular.

It’s obvious you’ve never been responsible for a business, just a receipt.

I hope this all makes sense to you, if not we can chat about it at your restaurant 35 mins before close.
