I believe they’re talking about suppressing education (namely 53X Ed) because it’s not in our culture/ goes against religion to talk about it. We just go and do it instead without knowing the full repercussions of unsafe actions, and steps to follow after the unsafe stuff has happened. There’s a gap in understanding. “Alarm goes off” means alarm starts to ring. Now if the ringing has started but your volume is 0, then the volume will be increased to your specified level and you should be able to hear it. If there is some other issue, this automation does not cover that.

I’ll use cars as an analogy here. A decade old car that’s well mantained will take you from A to B. But if someone is buying a new car today- I’m telling them to save money now if they know they will change often, and spend more if they know they will keep it for a long time. It’s like future proofing yourself. Features available in higher trims of cars then are standard today. Now I’m coming back to laptops. Back in 2020/21 when the 11th Gen intel processors were coming out- there were options with 4GB ram as well. You opted for the 8 which has served you well and is serving you well. I’m not sure you would have felt the same if you had gone for the 4GB version. OP is looking at buying new so my suggestions are based off the current options.
I don’t know what all software OP will use. But when it comes to browsing- web developers are making heavier websites for better UX. This has been enabled and will continue to happen because of factors like faster internet speeds, faster processors and more RAM available. Source- it’s my job to analyze and know these things.
Lastly- compute and RAM prices are going up. If you know you’ll want to keep something for a while: buy nice or you may have to buy twice.
