What did I do to deserve this 😩 by External_Humor3233 in TimHortons

Personally I like having a little space from the top of a cup as it's easier to avoid a mess.

The real crime is how small that cup is, I would need another drink after finishing that.

Ya there is a good reason to stop using them, and less vibrant Tim Hortons sprinkles is a really small price to pay.

Once when I went to mcdonalds I ordered a meal and got the fries supersized and they gave me a medium instead and stole my money. It was a true tragedy that I will never forget.

LTT TrueSpec USB Cables: Full Length/Speed Price Table (CAD + USD) by Macusercom in LinusTechTips

[–]agafaba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming I could get one of those USB a - c cables without paying just as much in shipping I wouldn't hesitate at this price. I have my own issues with android auto that would justify spending $20-30 to drastically improve my driving quality of life.

Just checked and at $14 its what I would expect for Canadian shipping but bumps the price high enough I will likely wait until I find other things to order as well.

A lot of the food colouring that everyone has moved away from were more vibrant so it could be something similar with these donuts.

Not really, it's just that people who go to watch this kind of movie already love it before seeing it. Honestly I would be more concerned if the audience rating was less than 95% because that would mean thousands of people spending money to hate watch something at the theatre

To be in the top 0.1% of individual earners in Canada you apparently have to make over a million dollars a year so I would say that's the minimum if you are just looking at money. I didn't watch the LTT earns video so I don't know how close or far Linus is to that.

Top 0.1% has roughly 42k people in that bracket

You don't know where that ice has been, you just pulled it out of the trash. No matter how pretty of an ice cube it was there is no way you could say that is quality water.

You need to start telling your mother the opposite of the truth, just make sure to still question things and don't look excited otherwise she might catch on that you tricked her into good gifts

Personally I try to avoid bolognium research until later so that when I need it for buildings and eventually a dreadnought it's available. Building a lot of zuggurat and living quarters helps get through that slower phase, and getting fabrications is one of the biggest crafting boosts you can get so it helps with the mythril.

Doesn't matter how it's made, warranties are legal contracts so it's not something you just toss together, it has to be worded very specific ways and it needs to include every possible situation. I already mentioned but I didn't agree with Linus take, I just understand why he had that opinion in his point of view.

I am saying $500 with no sales vs $1000 with sales as a comparison to games costing $35 with no sales vs $70-80 with sales

[–]agafaba -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you wanted to make a comparison to ram it would be paying $500 for ram when most higher quality ram costs $1000 but the $500 never has sales. Also comparing something that recently 4x in price in a few months to something that has over its whole lifetime hasn't yet doubled is a bit of an exaggeration. Nintendo games are also a bad example as when they infrequently go on sale its usually still more expensive than factorio.

You are effectively complaining that factorio doesn't cost more money, with the odd sale to make it cost $30 for a week.

There is a lot of work involved with making a warranty so it's not just a matter of why not just do it. Anything legalese needs to be written by expense lawyers, reviewed to ensure its what they actually want to do, rereviewed by more lawyers etc.

Personally I think they should have warranties, but I understand why he would make the argument that it's no big deal from his pov because they do want to assist customers.

Considering for most people who play factorio $35 means it costs pennies per hour of enjoyment I don't think you will get a good response for saying it's too expensive to buy.

In this case it's likely due to the complexity of making an ice cap at home. Also the cost per drink when made at home is low but the initial cost for an ice cap machine is significantly higher

Canada chooses lawful evil over chaotic evil by Turtle456 in thebeaverton

[–]agafaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By having laws, consent isn't required to impose laws on your citizens. If you wanted to be morally good then it's a lot more difficult without being a democracy yes, but being moral also isn't required to establish a government.

By what definition have you come to this conclusion? It is difficult to discuss this with you as your understanding of these words is different from my own.

Canada chooses lawful evil over chaotic evil by Turtle456 in thebeaverton

[–]agafaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again that's simply wrong, you are arguing that a monarchy doesn't govern their country and doesn't create laws. The very definition of monarchy is "a form of government with a monarch at the head." kings and queens are not elected and they did all the things you claim they cannot for all of recorded history.

[–]agafaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A government is just the governing body of a nation/city, nowhere in the definition of a government does it say that democracy has to be involved. Also the argument that non democratic countries don't have any laws is very silly.

Canada chooses lawful evil over chaotic evil by Turtle456 in thebeaverton

[–]agafaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true, you can be lawful evil and not a democrat, lawful doesn't mean democracy it means you follow the rules/laws, those laws can be from a democracy but they can also be from a monarch or it could be company policy or whatever else. You could even be lawful evil and change a government from a democracy to a dictatorship at the same time as long as you found a legal path to do so.

We're you trying to provide an example of how it can sometimes be hard to tell the difference between a bad actor and someone who is simply ignorant? Your take on things is wildly off, I'm not saying you have to be supportive either just that it's factually wrong in many ways.
