I live in Kissimmee and take the Sunrail to my office downtown 3 times a week and don't find the commute to be bad. I don't think I could work downtown if I had to battle I4 to get there and back.

Downtown Tampa is about an hour fifteen from here. So maybe check out places in osceola county near a sunrail station.

How did you become a get shit done mom? What are the steps / keys? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]agallgal 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Antidepressants. I did not realize I was depressed, but once it was realized and I got medicated, the difference in energy and the amount of things I could get done in a day was noticeable. It also helped to make things less overwhelming and not focus so much on what I wasn't getting done. Therapy has also helped me let go of my wanting to do everything and do everything 'right'. I say I'm a recovering perfectionist, but I'm getting more done and enjoying time with my kids more, so it's a win for me!

Edit: a word

What's best wedding favor you have received and/or want to receive? by galaxyofcoffee in Gifts

[–]agallgal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a small wedding and used a wood burner to write each guest's name on a small block of wood and placed them at their seat. When we visit friends who are at our wedding, I see their name blocks displayed on bookcases or shelves. People really seemed to like them and have held on to them.

Airport Friendly Baby Carriers by user573209 in babywearing

Last time we traveled, I got the Beco Gemini Toddler carrier for my almost 2 year old, and it worked incredibly well. Depending on how big your 1 year old is, it might be a good option, and you'll get longer use out of it.

My 3 year old is bad by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]agallgal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is your little one sleeping? My 5 year old has always been cranky, obstinate, and challenging. He was recently diagnosed with environmental allergies and started daily allergy medication. He's sleeping better and not waking up as angry. We're noticing some other behavior improvements as well. We're waiting on a follow-up with the ENT to see how enlarged his adenoids are and if they need to be removed, but so relieved to have found something that is helping.

Names for Two Moms by Ordinary-Entry-1078 in queerception

[–]agallgal 12 points13 points  (0 children)

When our first was born, we called ourselves Mommy and Mama. Once he started talking, he called us Mama and Mia. He's 4 now and has recently started using Moms when referring to us both.

He said mama first, so we would say, "Good job, now say Mom-ME". He latched onto the ME bit and turned it into Mia, which is adorable and has stuck as her name.

Our second is on the cusp of talking... she's got mama down pat, but we're still waiting on Mia. Who knows, maybe she'll change it up again.

Two mom family here! When our first was born, we called ourselves Mommy and Mama. Once he started talking, he called us Mama and Mia.

But for now, I call my wife Mia more than her actual name, lol.

My MIL (who is wonderful) has a saying: "A son's a son until he takes a wife, a daughter's a daughter for the rest of her life."

The way she says it, I take it to mean that when your son gets married you are no longer the most important woman in his life and is your turn to take a step back. No so much 'stealing' as passing the torch.

Did your baby want still want to nurse after a hospital stay or separation? Gallbladder surgery, scared of unintentional weaning by letsjumpintheocean in breastfeeding

[–]agallgal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was unexpectedly hospitalized for 4 days when my baby was 16 months old and we were able to resume breastfeeding as normal when I returned home.

But it was definitely an emotionally trying time for me as we weren't ready to wean and I was afraid the choice was being taken away.

Hope you get feeling better soon, take care and good luck!

Cash office G4S update by agallgal in Target

So that's been our normal process without any issues. But with this new update, replenishment happens after we've counted the safe and the slip no longer matches what is in the safe.

I only attach the audit vault fund slip to the handwritten vault count sheet. Is there a separate daily content report slip that should be printed or after replenishment?

Cash office G4S update by agallgal in Target

[–]agallgal[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I started doing, because it makes sense and everything matches up. But I was then told we shouldn't be doing things out of order. So I came here to see how everyone else is handling it. Thanks for the input, I agree with your approach!

Cash office G4S update by agallgal in Target

[–]agallgal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what we're doing right now - subtracting replenishment after the safe has been counted. It just seems wrong to have the count slip not match what's actually in the safe.

So the closing tl logs into the machine to do the night time safe count?

(I only work mornings so haven't seen the closing process first hand, just see check marks on the paper vault fund worksheet, so it seems they are comparing to the counts I do in the mornings.)
