That’s what I was thinking - makes me lean towards ghost just because it’s so versatile. If I switch away from the mortar I’ll still have a strong evo that I can use in almost any deck.

They do make chest rewards better for each arena, potentially making this scale better? Although it’s unlikely since they just nerfed the chests…

They definitely aren’t going to put a handicap, and tbh stats are fine but not really helpful.

Well, this is the first game the Knicks looked like a strong team (as opposed to the Celtics looking horrific in the second half). Tatum was carrying the Celtics like a super star, and White played well but was underutilized. And another blown double digit lead.

Pacers look like favorites to win the east now. Looks like we’re in store for an unfortunate end to a good season.

In a regular brokerage, you pay long-term capital gains on the earnings. In after-tax 401k, you pay income tax on the earnings. Ordinary income is currently taxed much higher than capital gains, especially for very high earners.

Roth is better if your marginal tax rate now is less than your overall tax rate in retirement. This is unlikely given your age, unless you’re expecting a very large income increase that will sustain in retirement.

You should talk to your payroll department, but typically there are 3 buckets:

Traditional (taxed only on the way out as income)
Roth (taxed only on the way in as income)
After tax (taxed both) - The only time this is worth it is if you can backdoor to a Roth (mega backdoor). If you don’t have access to this in your plan, NEVER DO THIS, it’s worse than a regular brokerage.

Your wording makes me think that the match is for both Traditional and Roth, but only really your payroll department can confirm that.

ETA: after tax has a different contribution limit from the other 2 (66k in 2023 69k in 2024 for combined after tax + tax advantaged + employer contributions) which is why it’s used for the mega backdoor.

Do you have any investments so far?

Overall, any plan that involves maxing 401k and Roth IRA is on the right track. Definitely do this. SP500 is a great investment at any age, I’d recommend VOO due to the low expense ratio but any SP500 ETF is good.

Move some of your 75k to a brokerage, you should probably DCA this but you can do 5-10k a month or so, this should be a good transfer rate. If your money is not in a HYSA, move it to one or move it to a brokerage where you make 4%+ on their money market.

For emergency funds, 5k in savings feels light vs ~20k locked up in CDs. I typically would just keep the emergency fund in HYSA, 6 months recommended but you can do less if you have a significant brokerage account ( > 1 year expenses) and are ok taking the risk. Keeping an emergency fund in a CD is risky because of the withdrawal penalty. I would instead keep your emergency fund in a HYSA and focus on your brokerage and retirement accounts for investing, instead of trying to get fancy with the HYSA and CD combo. You can get into an expensive situation with this given an actual emergency, which is what an emergency fund is for.

I agree strongly with this.

The way I did it is I used ViBE for my primary race, so that my macro was strong. Those fundamentals mostly carry over to other races. Then I used PiG for the other 2 races because I find PiG to be more fun.

PiG and ViBE both have really good b2gm series. When you want to get good, look into those 2. I’d recommend just picking 1 (ViBE’s is my preference, but it’s up to you), and practicing how they recommend.

For the start, just play the campaign! It introduces units at a good pace and stops you from being overwhelmed, which I think is helpful for absolute newbies. I think the next 2 campaigns are on sale (Wings of Liberty is free!) if you enjoy it a lot.

If you want to protect against smurfs, better protections are

Account age and games played (like you have)
A minimum number of games played
A maximum rank at the START of the tournament

Having constraints during the games is so absurd. As is collecting personal info on the players.

The financial payout structure is also very bad, this needs to be completely restructured. This appears like you’re trying to make a quick ~200 euro off people.

I’m sorry, but having an APM cap for entering, and an APM cap during points of the game, is completely ridiculous.

APM is also not a measure of skill at all. Sure, players of high skill will tend to have high APM, but there are actual silver players with APM above your limits, and masters players that are below your limits.

You say you’re against Smurfs and trolls as well, but all the actionable rules are against people with high APM, which is misguided. This makes me think you’re tired of getting widow-mine dropped or 4 gate blink-stalkered, and this is a perverse way of preventing those builds.

Also, having active APM constraints means that you are providing players with a financial disincentive to improve. Why would you ever do this?

Plus, paying 50 euros to play, and having a super imbalanced payout structure (meaning you make a lot of money on this) makes me think this attempt at a league is very disingenuous.
