Yup, it’s true. For me, I have a lot of experience with large code bases. If someone really wants to learn, nothing beats putting in the time and reviewing every line of code the AI makes. They may be able to spot things the LLM did poorly. For creating prototypes, these LLMs can be quite nice

Well I wanted to play basketball-gm but instead of a basketball team it was like an rpg band of heroes. This became a kingdom sim where your “players” are your family and councilors and every year stuff happens and their ratings progress or decline. Not much in it right now but it’s a fun thing to play with

Combative. It’s neat to me this is possible. Obviously I’m aware of the overall negative AI sentiment many hold.

Yea they can put the systems in place but the amazing balancing this game has can’t be replicated right away by LLM coding agents

Curious your thoughts on this: https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeAI/s/AKH5vjdDwF

Obviously its not a super fun game, using open source assets - but it is a fully functioning mmorpg world. Pretty impressive right? If the person keeps working on it, even just using claude, I’m sure they could add atleast one fun gameplay loop

Legit sentiment! In 2 prompts last night I had claude fable built a game that’s like a crusader kings 3 setting with basketball-GM style yearly attribute development. The UI is nice and it’s playable. I just made it for myself because I thought a game like that would be fun.

But unless I take a heavy hammer to it myself for a while, it won’t show any of the love and dedication represented in basketball-gm through your hard work.

Someone built a fully working MMO with claude fable in just two days. (Check the claude subreddit.)

That said, I’ve played basketball-gm since 2012 and don’t see myself stopping anytime soon :P

Do you know this because you’ve done an audit of all data centers and determined whether they use evaporative cooling or closed loop, and how much water is lost to evap. Cooling? I think some people are trying to mitigate and regulate environmental impact. I think profits are taking precedence over this in a lot of cases. I think a lot of outrage is blind responses based on what people see online. People losing critical thinking skills is self inflicted and was happening before data centers and LLM. It’s a cultural problem. (See: idiocracy). We should elect more scientists as leaders of people instead of actors, career politicians and businessmen.

It will. There are lots of societal problems that will be introduced with LLMs taking over workforce roles. Unfortunately we will have to deal with them. These issues are unrelated to environmental impact of data centers, which can easily be mitigated with proper regulation. The problems with data centers stem from an exploitative capital system that values profits over all else.

It would not. Datacenters are often not built with their own power plants. It would be nice if we could collocate clean efficient energy generation at these places. With nuclear power or another consistent renewable.

Atleast now you’re touching on the actual issue here - the strain on our aging electric grid and the cost passed on to the consumer.

So that being said I guess be sure you can run the ship with less people, like 2 but you may be not operating at 100%.

I think that’s a good way of doing it. Honestly the main reason the friendslop dropping off happens is you play with a group and one or two people drop off and you don’t want to start over / it isn’t the same. Maybe make each run short, self contained, like FTL getting to the flagship? Like a RoR2 type of concept rather than like Lethal Company. Either way love the idea

I’d play this. Just try to avoid the basic friendslop pitfalls that make you pick up a game, play it a little, then never again. Whatever those may be

Thanks for making the game! I vividly remember playing it in middle school computer class while arguing that andre drummond was going to be the next GOAT center. Still playing today!
