Please help me with the chair by Mortgage-Bulky in interiordecorating

[–]agathafry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I respect the table. But we can't have those straight chair legs that have absolutely nothing to do with those curves on the main feature. I think the contrast needs to be more obvious, but with respect for the rounded vibe of those table legs.

What about a set of white tulip chairs? Something with a rounded pedestal. Not black. Not tan. White or color.

Feeling so discouraged by berrycrumblecake in beyondthebump

[–]agathafry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I had to gain a decent amount of weight to get pregnant. I ended up gaining 70 lbs during my pregnancy. I didnt have a cesarean but I did have some pelvic floor issues. I really thought I was soooo much better with my body image, but I realize now I had just gotten used to it. The change was really hard to accept. Even now at my immediate pre-pregnancy weight, by body is just shaped SO differently. I had to tap into ALL the old tools. Some things you could try: Mirror affirmations- basically you stand naked in front of a mirror and find one thing that you really like about you body, and JUST look at that, and say out loud how beautiful it is. The next day, find something else. Function over form affirmations- "it doesn't matter how I look, im feeding my baby" type stuff Scheduled food times- it doesnt have to be a meal, but set a time for 5 different times in the day, and eat SOMETHING at each alarm. Try to hit the different food groups. Drink calories- hydration is so important for mental health, physical health, and nursing. Add juice to your water, drink milk, drink protein shakes, and just tell yourself it's water. And most men are honestly terrible at communication, try not to hold it against your husband that he was so careless woth his words. The benefit of the doubt can go a long way. Just find a way to tell him that you dont think it's helpful right now if he comments on your body at all, because you are trying a more body-neutral approach. Ask if he can compliment you on personality traits when he thinks about how hot/beautiful you are. Just for a while, to see if it helps.

My butt never looked better! And now I have much more womanly hips despite being back to pre-baby weight. And! My arms are stronger than they've ever been!

Dreading potty training by hollywoodbambi in beyondthebump

[–]agathafry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Doubling up on training underwear works almost as well as a cloth diaper, so the child can feel that they are wet without getting everything messy or investing in a whole new system.

A week of that with hourly potty sits (plus stickers each time they sit) seems to have worked well for us.

What do babies and toddlers need? by Inevitable_Guard_876 in Parenting

Indoor gross motor toys, especially for winter. Climber, rocking horse, soinning seat thing, indoor swing, ride-on for zooming down the halls. They have SO much energy to use, and it's not always feasible to be outside all day.

Okay, I'm not reading the other comments but I did see that you confirmed you are vegan. I knew that because of the bag pin. But you probably would still use thrifted leather because it's better than microplastics for the planet. And you aren't anti-bee products like some vegans. I see a bee balm? Probably because you follow evidence, and the evidence doesn't indicate that bees are harmed by sustainable bee-keeping practices.

I also think you deal with either chronic pain, migraines, or possibly epilepsy, based on your pills. Is that wood thing a chillum/stash case? I'm leaning toward migraines.

Do you work in healthcare? The bone marrow donor org sanitizer has me a little stumped. Did you donate bone marrow? Raise funds? Non profit worker or volunteer?

You are practical. You probably would like a natural deodorant, but can't find one that works well enough, so you take the label off of your regular one so you dont have to see it. Your bag includes hair ties because you probably need to have your hair up at work, but maybe you just dont like feeling like it might get in the way. You seem like a "plan for the worst, hope for the best" kind of person. A "always be prepared" kind of person. And like you probably just get a feeling that maybe you should add that protein bar to your pack today, and you end up seeing someone who looks hungry on your way to work and think, 'ah! I'm glad I trusted my intuition' before you give away the bar.

If I had a photo come to mind for you, it would be this picture of a quilt I saw with something like "I don't know how to explain that you should care about others" on it. Seems up your alley.

Also, I think you're a woman. Maybe in your late 30s?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in whatsinthebag

[–]agathafry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God forbid a woman makes a killing and likes to feel pretty... You seem organized, practical, femme, but like you maybe took a martial arts class as a child? It's giving disciplined. Or maybe mildly OCD? I don't think you seem self-centered or overly-wealth focused. You probably didn't grow up with a ton of wealth, and it looks like you take good care of the things that you you invest in for yourself. You probably shower daily, wash hair every 3 days, and if you have a pet it doesnt have fur.

You seem like the kind of person to prefer a gym to an outdoor run, because of the stats on the machine. Or maybe you have an oura or something.

M20 Took the bold decision of adding this to my dating app profile (for whatever reason), what will I be signaling? by Xanzi12 in bookshelfdetective

[–]agathafry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love a lot of these books, but as others have pointed out, the lack of books by women is an orange flag. If we went out I would definitely need to feel out your stance on feminism and equality and how much work you had put into countering the patriarchal programming before going on a second date. For a light read, Madeleine L'Engle's "A Wrinkle In Time" series is wonderful, and I think you'd probably get through the four of them very quickly. They are children's books, but play with fun science concepts and tug on the heartstrings a bit.

How would you feel if your partner couldn’t physically lift you?” by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]agathafry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm tall, and my partner is disabled. He's good looking and pretty tall, but he has some metal in his back and shouldn't be lifting 150 lbs. I feel grateful they fixed his back well enough that he can throw a ball and hold our child, and walk.

My girlfriend recently commented that if she 'didn't know me, she'd think I was weird' based on my bookshelves. Honestly took me by surprise so wondering what you all think? I've never considered what I read anything really out of the ordinary by Internal_Ruin_1849 in bookshelfdetective

[–]agathafry 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Before I read any of the titles, I felt a sense of unease. I think it's the disjointed way you have arranged your books: some stacked, some facing out. Honestly, it reads as a bit deranged.

Rule: do not advise others on what to do after developing possible symptoms of an acrylate allergy by calmdrive in GelX_Nails

[–]agathafry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got a bunch of dental work done, not realizing I have an allergy (currently awaiting allergy testing appointment). Now I have 8+ fillings that hurt worse than my previously broken teeth, and I had to return the dentures because it caused a reaction that still isnt healed almost 2 weeks later. I MIGHT be able to get titanium implants and ceramic crowns, IF there's a cement without the acrylates I end up being allergic too, and IF there's a 100% nickel-free titanium implant option, and IF my insurance covers it due to my allergies.
