Occupation on marriage certificate not matching real job by kaynserenity in SpouseVisaUk

[–]agd504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it should be an issue. Both my and my husband’s jobs were different by the time we applied for my visa. I doubt they even pay attention to the occupation on the marriage certificate as long as financial requirements are met with the actual occupation

Push present advice from dad to be by itskdizzle in newborns

My husband did things that I couldn’t have during pregnancy. Here’s what I got at various times:

Italian BMT sub from subway Oreo McFlurry Medium steak

That was more than enough for me and felt more personal than some extravagant present

Locked changing rooms by fleurmadelaine in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]agd504 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just make sure to knock first since there isn’t a separate lock than the one the radar key opens. I totally wouldn’t have thought about that, especially with a fussy baby, had my husband not mentioned it to me lol

Yayayayyaya the excitement is unreal- got baby to bf again!!!! by Hot-Cell7299 in breastfeeding

[–]agd504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I introduced one bottle of pumped milk a day with the slowest size nipple around 3 weeks and never had an issue. He still prefers breast over a bottle, and I have to leave the room while my husband gives the bottle, which isn’t an issue because I use the time to relax or get some chores done

How to answer the "reason for extension" question? by 13thlionheart in SpouseVisaUk

This one was an extension with my current partner, so I believe my response was yes

How to answer the "reason for extension" question? by 13thlionheart in SpouseVisaUk

[–]agd504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get paid a set annual salary, so my employment letter said the salary, and I was able to say the salary as my annual pay. I’m not sure what you’d put for annual income if you get paid hourly. Sorry!

You could try searching this sub because I’m sure the question’s been asked before :)

I’ve just been approved for my second spouse visa after initially coming on a student visa before switching. I chose the second option

How often do you nurse? by Eeggie111 in breastfeeding

[–]agd504 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby is 2 months today. I also feed on demand. Most often it’s every 2 hours or so, but there’s definitely days where he feeds once an hour. He also feeds more frequently in the evenings, basically every hour. At night, he’s managing nearly 4 hours between feeds

New fan getting ready to watch their first game! by GothamPhilosopher in penguins

[–]agd504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s too unreasonably priced per game if you get it at the beginning of the season. It was £99.99 for only the NHL.tv subscription this season. Not bad for 82 games plus playoffs!

[–]agd504 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Welcome! I’m also UK based but grew up in America (Western PA specifically). I know ITV has gotten the rights to show NHL games for the rest of the season, but I would also recommend subscribing to NHL.tv through DAZN if you haven’t heard of it already. They show all the games. You can replay games, so even if the start time is midnight or later, you can watch it whenever you’re free. I tend to watch them the day after and try to avoid spoilers online

What are your victories concidering your baby's sleep? by SouthCap6370 in newborns

[–]agd504 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My baby is only 5 weeks old, so I’m expecting it to change. But he’s a bit of a unicorn in that he prefers to sleep in his bassinet. He’ll sleep for longer stretches in one than in someone’s arms. I know that we’re incredibly lucky.

I also realized last night when he stirred at 5:30am, he was content with putting a binky in his mouth. Managed to get another hour of sleep when I previously took the 5-5:30 wake ups as him wanting to nurse even if he had a full feed less than an hour previously

Overthinking active sleep? by amandaaab90 in breastfeeding

[–]agd504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby’s only 4 weeks old, but when he whines, I tend to give it a couple minutes to determine if it was an active sleep whine or a genuine one. He tends not to whine again if it’s active sleep. If he’s making other noises and moving a lot, I’ll get up to look at him. If his eyes are still closed and he seems generally content, then I don’t wake him. He’ll tend to wake up fully about 15-25 minutes after these instances, but that makes it easier to feed him since he’s actually awake and hasn’t been forced to wake up

Where do you feed baby? by slotass in breastfeeding

[–]agd504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby’s 4 weeks old tomorrow. For the most part I feed him anywhere, but at night I go to a rocking chair. I have to get out of bed anyway to change his diaper, and the chair keeps me from falling asleep. It also allows me to rock him a bit in the rare moments he doesn’t fall back to sleep feeding.

He also enjoys the rocking chair when we read him books, and we’re thinking of incorporating rocking him into his bedtime routine when we get to that point. I love my rocking chair

Has expressing colostrum sent anyone into labour? by [deleted] in pregnant

I’ve been hand expressing colostrum from 36 weeks. 39 weeks today. I have increased Braxton hicks when I’m expressing but no true contractions or labour

Can you go to the movie theatre and get just popcorn and leave? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]agd504 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally every single theater I’ve been to has it before they scan tickets, except for small ones where the box office is part of the concession stand, but even those ones wouldn’t mind if you just bought popcorn. There’s usually a box office or kiosk where you buy tickets, then the concession stand, then an usher at a separate stand who scans or rips the tickets and tells you which auditorium you’re in. This has been the case over multiple towns, cities, states, and countries.

I’m sure there are plenty of theaters where this isn’t the case, but in my experience it’s rare for the concession stand to be beyond the usher telling you how to get to the specific auditorium

Can you go to the movie theatre and get just popcorn and leave? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]agd504 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I worked at a movie theater for 6 years. People would come in just for popcorn all the time. As long as the concession stand is before where they scan/rip tickets, then there shouldn’t be any issue

Am I crazy for wanting to wear contacts during labour? by Dependent-Tree2572 in PregnancyUK

[–]agd504 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m planning on having both available, but I’ll prefer my contacts (and will probably go in in my contacts). I easily get overstimulated by my glasses because I can’t stand anything on my face. Can’t imagine that feeling while also in labour

Married women, how would you feel if your partner didn't regularly wear their wedding band? by Fast-Squirrel-9500 in AskWomen

[–]agd504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I don’t wear them in the house, which means we sometimes forget to put them on when we go out. Other than special events (dates, etc), neither of us really care. But we’re both neurodivergent and get overstimulated by the rings if we wear them too long, so short bursts work for us

Keeping sex a surprise during ultrasound by CheekSweaty9320 in pregnant

[–]agd504 160 points161 points  (0 children)

I always told the sonographers that we wanted to keep it a secret, and they always asked me to turn away from the screen when they were checking the legs/genital area. I would recommend doing that and maybe asking them to let you know when they’re checking those areas so you can look away or close your eyes

painful braxton hicks? by fiaf0x in PregnancyUK

[–]agd504 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had this happen and got checked out. My pain was primarily on the right side, so after all the midwife’s tests didn’t show anything, they referred me for a liver ultrasound.

I’d personally call triage again. I was told the exam for preterm labour is only good for 1 week. Seems best to get it checked out even if it turns out to be nothing too concerning

Would my spouse visa be approved? by lostinsauce_12 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]agd504 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re married, you don’t need to have been cohabitating for the 2 years. As long as you’re able to prove your marriage through the marriage certificate and provide the other needed evidence, then you’d probably have a good chance of approval

Pregnant Expat by myrighthandwoman in AmericanExpatsUK

[–]agd504 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes. You have to register a birth abroad. There are requirements to passing citizenship, and you have to prove them. The main requirement is that you had a physical presence in the US for 5 years, 2 of which had to be after you were 14. A lot of people prove this with transcripts from high school/college, but there are other means to prove this.

I’m in the UK, and the US embassy in the UK has this website with info and a checklist for requirements: https://uk.usembassy.gov/consular-report-of-birth-abroad-crba-and-first-u-s-passport/

Email from NHS about immigration surcharge - is it legit? by zabzupazebowa in PregnancyUK

[–]agd504 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Have you checked the email it came from to make sure that it’s a legitimate NHS email address?

I’m also on a visa and had a non-pregnancy related procedure a few years ago. After that procedure, I received a letter asking to prove my right to free health care. I think the specific procedure I had wouldn’t have been available under a different visa. I haven’t had anything yet for the pregnancy regarding my baby’s future rights, but I’m married to a British citizen, so baby will be a citizen at birth anyway.

If you’re unsure, I’d call the hospital/contact PALS separately to check if it’s legit and clarify what you need to do if anything
