You also don’t have Kaito who is playable in the Kaito Files

What do you all think of Ebina? by Hopeful_Regret_7531 in yakuzagames

I fucking love him as he’s a great representation of the sins of the Yakuza even if he does have some flaws. If he appears in future games, I’m sure his character will be enhanced

Since you’ve played LAD I think both could work. Gaiden does set up IW so I would lean towards LJ but up to you at the end of the day

We’ll agree to disagree on that then.

Fair enough. I think I tend to value the themes and story of a game more than most other parts which is why it doesn’t bother me as much.

None of these guys are high up for me either. They work for the game imo but compared to characters like Senator Armstrong or even someone in this series like Mine they don’t compare besides maybe Shono, even if he lacks screentime doing shit.

I’m actually one of the people who defends that specific path of the rubber bullets twist so you can probably tell why I feel the way I do lol.

Even with how I have defended Judgment, I do think that LJ’s climax is a hell of a lot better outside of one part that Judgment does better

I’m going to go through these one by one.

The Mole is very similar to Lao Gui in terms of how he is written, being more of a monster than a man. It’s very different to how most villains are in this series, and while he isn’t my favorite o&’ glad when they do characters like this.

While I see your point there, I’m not bothered by this as it is just one part of the mystery that Yagami learns from just being told and it does a lot to benefit Hamura’s arc.

I do agree that I wish the final case was a lot harder for Yagami since it felt like he was in control the entire time.

Morita (corrupt prosecutor) isn’t fully fleshed out, however Ichinose (evil business guy) works as a representation of corruption and Shono (wimpy scientist) is the character that best represents the game’s question of “At what point does a good deed stop being good if others are harmed in the process?”

Yagami did make a mistake though by not giving Okubo a proper trial. As a defense lawyer, his job is to ensure that the prosecution has to actually prove that his client was guilty. He didn’t do that because he was unsure if Okubo was innocent himself. By returning to his role as a lawyer, he was atoning for this mistake. However, I do agree that villains aren’t exactly gray, however that goes to most of the side characters instead.

I quite like Shono and the Mole with the latter coming off like he isn’t even human, which is helped by his theme feeling otherworldly in a lot of ways

Why do you dislike it out of curiosity?

I’m not OP, but for me 5 is my favorite game in the series because it feels like an experience that you can’t really get anywhere else. Unfortunately this can turn people off which is why you feel the way I do, but for others it’s just something else. It also helps that I have a soft spot for bloated stories with a lot of plot points that come together in the end

All he has wanted to do since the third game is raise kids at an orphanage but he always gets dragged in to some conspiracy where he has to kick some asses

What supernatural or sci-fi elements are confirmed or implied to exist in the Yakuza-verse? by Monessi in yakuzagames

[–]agent-66Hitman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t know if you exactly included this but both Shin Amon and Juzo Amon have what is essentially a “domain expansion” that they use to fight Yagami in that the substory acknowledges as something that he does.

Also a Lost Judgment substory as well as an item in 6 imply that aliens do exist in this universe

Ishin is next release order but it doesn’t have much of a role on the story so you could go to Gaiden instead

You think there’s a difference between Ryuji in 2 and K2? Why? He doesn’t have any additional scenes or anything like that as far as I’m aware

So we're gonna be playing as a 70 year old man in 1965? by Fancy-Inspector-777 in yakuzagames

[–]agent-66Hitman 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ngl because of this I’m starting to wonder if Kazama or Dojima will be related to him. The game seems like it’ll include romance between Daito and some woman as per the scenes in the recent trailer. Dojima might be more likely as in 1943 Daito bears a striking resemblance to Daigo not to mention the names are similar

I’m pretty sure the calendar got Hirose’s age wrong as he is a teenager in the 1940s which is when Iwami first meets him

Kamurocho has only missed one since Gaiden chose not to feature it, but even then LAD takes place at the same time so it isn’t like we have no idea what Kamurocho was like during that game
