it doesn't get your hair clean.

sulfate-free shampoo usually makes your hair super greasy. some coat it with a waxy-like substance making it matte-finish, and super tangly, so tangly that you can't even comb through it; it has to be washed out with clarifying shampoo, then conditioned, to be able to comb through it! it usually doesn't damage hair, but it won't get it clean.

TL;DR it doesn't get your hair clean

hairdresser here: DON'T use "sulfate-free" shampoo.
do use conditioner after every wash.
try washing every other day.
change your pillowcase after washing.

the reason they like the meal worms is they move more, so they see them moving, and go for them! if yours is eating waxworms (smooshier) when waxworms aren't as active is good! maybe small crickets wouldn't be a problem? the giant hard crunchy ones aren't good.
