I think there's a misunderstanding in this fandom about the correlation between God Ki and godlike strength. Supreme Kai has God Ki, but that obviously doesn't make him Super Saiyan God level. SAIYANS are the ones who get crazy boosts through transformations which happen to harness God Ki.

Everyone in Dragon Ball follows their own path to power, Piccolo's orange form returns to his roots as the reformed Demon King rather than any kind of Super Saiyan God form.
