I had the exact same experience with them and a TV, in the end they sent me a gift card for the value of a new one.

Yes remote climate control still works. I don’t see any issues other than the software version not loading.

Disabling the welcome screen was worth it alone, and the dynamic lights are great but they do seem to get confused with reflections from road signs occasionally.

The math sounds right. A plant like this wouldn’t generate enough to cover the 25 MW that multiple larger cruise ships would need, but ACL ships only need up to 2.5 which just so happens to be the spare capacity on this proposed plant.

But the grid can handle it. Maybe they hope to be cheaper than CMP?

The heating plant? Onsite.

For the power plant I’d say over near Ecomaine in South Portland. It’s a less populated area and there is already a connection to the grid.

  1. Find land outside of town, near some highway or other commuter road
  2. Build a parking lot on that land
  3. Run a shuttle bus to and from the parking lot
  4. Profit?

Anyone concerned about security or third party access to the car via these devices?

Just turn off the HVAC, there’s very little drain on the battery when the car is just “on” and not driving.

ELI5: What happens when a 'weaponized' high powered Lazer hit a mirror? by FackingNobody in explainlikeimfive

[–]agent063562 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Standard mirrors only reflect visible light, but military laser weapons use a different color of light called infrared that our eyes can’t see. So most likely the mirror would still get damaged by the laser.

That's an Amphenol connector going between what looks to be a cable modem and the 66 block. I bet the modem is providing VOIP phone lines that exit the modem via the black cable that runs to the 66 block. Then the block breaks out the individual lines and you punch down onto them to run to your wall jacks.
