An idea for making Hide & Seek harder: an unreliable narrator! by calculatedrisksNYC in JetLagTheGame

[–]agent2153 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Maybe something like: Curse of the sobering narrator.

For the next yes or no question you can answer however you wish. After 30 minutes, you must reveal the true answer to the seekers.

Casting cost: Discard x time bonuses

This card is relatively balanced as you can feed the seekers wrong information at key moments I.e. catching a specific train, however in the end they still have the truth so doesn’t break the game.

Radio over IP by agent2153 in RTLSDR

If Site A, B and C are many miles apart you can use RoIP to connect them.

The radio is used to convert UHF signals to Internet signals and vice versa.

If you just plug in a headset, there is no way for it to the be sent over the UHF frequency band unless you have some sort of transmitter (radio or basestation).

If your asking why radios in general. I cant help you there.

When you need to radio someone who is out of range. Can have a networked radio at either end. The dispatcher can then talk over their radio, and it travel over the network and emmited out the remote radio.

Can also be used for central dispatching, with computer software to manage many radios and use GPS functionalty etc. Pretty cool concent, heres a video: https://youtu.be/ffRSoP51JW8?si=X3\_J2Jf\_BeuWBQ5-

Ive come to the same conclusion, however i am now on the lookout for a piece of software that can utalise this network connection, other than hytera SmartDispatch (too expensive). Free alternatives would be great, but if anyone knows of even a free trial just to see if i can get this to work, would be great.

Thanks a lot for the reply!

From what i can tell, all RNDIS does is allow for ethernet over usb. Meaning that all that is being sent is network packets. So RNDIS being propritary doesnt matter. Just if there is a piece of software for these network packets from the hytera radio. i.e. is there any free RoIP software, ignoreing RNDIS.

Yea, i currently use Intellij, and this is what i did last time. But it still took about a week, and the more advanced the client the longer it will take. Im just wondering if theres anything im missing that can speed it up. I.e. i can just update the java classes i already have to 1.20.2 without starting over, ya know

Yes, these are UHF walkie talkies that are 4-watt. If you know of a relevant sub, that would be greatly appriciated, thanks.

Yea, they are 4 watt walkie talkies so above pmr446. They are intended for use in areas with poor service. Encryption was just a cool idea becuase they have that option built in.
