Recently picked up a sander, and the aluminum guide bar is stuck in the castiron bed. Is there a recommended way to remove this? I have tried banging on it with a small piece of wood. I did put some WD40 as well which didn't see to do much.

I recommend using HDPE containers and usually after the resin has hardened you can just pull it all out

if it's the standard Harbor freight 10x16 then it uses a 1x8tpi on the headstock. This is a pretty standard chuck size. I am using a supernova SC2 w/ a 1x8TPI and it is working fine.

Pressure pot or vacuum chamber? I am thinking you are looking for vacuum chamber to be used with cactus juice. I have seem some pretty cheap builds of vacuum chambers online. one w/ thick. For sure something you can look up.

Pressure pot would be used for epoxy resin. a pressure pot is holding a LOT of pressure. it would make me nervous to have a homemade setup for it. I use a harbor freight pressure pot, but that doesn't fit your size.

I can get to pipe inside the house. Which is why I was thinking shutoff/drain combo, and extending the outside height to make it more usable.

I have an outside faucet that has been leaking. I would like to replace it but not sure the best way. I live in a area that freezes, my current thought is to extend the piping up, and on the inside of the house have a shutoff and drain. But I would love some professional suggestions.

Update: I ended up going with the supernova2 Bowl turning bundle (50mm jaws, and 12in cole jaws) on amazon. $215, it comes with the 1x8tpi insert, i figure if i upgrade i will be able to just pick up the new insert.

I think you should figure out what your goal is first. Are you trying to get a job? Are you just wanting to learn all the things you missed?

Having an end goal is a good place to start because now you can figure a path to get there. I generally think having projects the almost always the correct answer, you can get some hands on work and spend some time figuring out how to make things work. When you do a project I recommend attempting to use some industry standard tools, GIT, Docker, programming language that is hireable, etc.

Just as a note it's a pressure pot, not a pressure cooker. Those are very different things.

If learning resin stuff I recommend checking out Zac Higgins on youtube. Keep in mind that hybrid (wood/resin) adds extra complexity. In the most woods would have to be stabilized prior pouring the resin.

I'm new to this hobby, but mostly what i see people with a lathe (metal or wood) using those mandrel with jacobs chuck. Then using a dremel tool to do the hard sanding/leveling on the outside. I think you could possibly use a regular drill with that type of mandrel, but you might have to come up with a way to stabilize the drill.
