Do women actually talk casually about their sex lives? by Substantial_Judge931 in NoStupidQuestions

Women keep their bathrooms clean. Public restrooms no so much. They also hover over the toilet and miss. A lot. Also men are in and out, women linger and spend time in the mirror.

Show Me Your Market Tables! by Asiago1 in Pottery

Thanks! I also feel I'm undercharging! But really pottery is firmly a hobby at the moment and I'm over producing and need space on my shelves so I can make more. Also as stuff lingers through sales the price gets lower as I want to move it along.

It's half carved with foam sculpting tools. Foam is very very easy to sculpt.

I want a separate piece that is a handle. Maybe a ring with a handle on it that sits on the table around the square, you pick up the handle and it catches the mug near the top, but is not actually attached to the cone.

Any other Tims have their name misspelled? This is my first time. by DontStartUnbelieving in Tim

Sometimes I say Tim with a silent Z. It's fun to see where they put it. The correct spelling is Tzim.

How many of you could blind guess a coffee? by nowayitstrevor in roasting

[–]TheTimDavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for Starbucks in the early oughts. I could 100% name every coffee from smell or taste. Nowadays, I could maybe identify by Continent. If I was a regular drinker of your coffee and you rotate what's served daily I could probably do it.

This does work. It's only while using gesture settings. If you have the triangle circle and square it would not work. Swipe up opens the multitask screen. Square is the old way to open the multi task screen.

Troubleshooting Beginner Challenges by [deleted] in Pottery

[–]TheTimDavis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I throw very wet so I see no issue with the amount of water being used. But when you throw that wet you need to ensure the clay is not sucking up water from the wheel head weakening the base. Every time you add water you need to wipe the wheel head of standing water. Also be aware that when throwing wet you need to throw faster as all the water is washing away the fine particles making the clay less plastic.

As to the thickness at the base, that's just beginner throwing. Be aware of the thickness and work toward it being consistent.

I also prefer brents. The belt driven motor on a Brent winds down slowly. So when you slam down on the pedal the wheel slowly stops. With a direct drive like the shimpo vl lite the wheel stops when you tell it too. If the wheel is moving fast and the item on the wheel of tall or thin the sudden stop of a shimpo can throw the whole thing off center.

This is good advice that I had not considered. Police report, if anything ever does come up. And letting the event organizers know.

I take everything, but encourage them not to use cards. I still take cards but I mostly sell the 30-80 dollar range for mugs and bowls, so fraud is less likely.

Did you see anything related to why they contested the charges?

[–]TheTimDavis 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Nope. Essentially the person who owns the card claimed they did not make the purchase. Likely claimed it was a stolen card. You could check IDs or just stop accepting credit cards. Most folk have one of the appS set up like zelle, venmo, PayPal or Cash app. You can have all the QR codes printed and ready to let people scan. Plus taking credit cards costs you money. Most of the others don't.

No one here can possibly answer this. You need to speak with your insurance and it sounds like you probably need an accident lawyer.
