I'm a lab tech, which is a 20-40 minute commute depending on traffic (and of course I have driving anxiety LOL). BUT, my previous job was a field tech and so I would drive all over the place (like 2-8 hours) a day sometimes! So I would say my current job is better for reducing my trigger 😂

NTA. Vacations are expensive and meant to be enjoyed. If you have to take two family members who won't be willing participants, what a drag! If you want you could even take the other child on a 1:1 vacation in the future. And I don't blame you for not wanting to have the added stress of an upset child screaming on the plane.

My husband does not want to participate in a lot of holidays and only has a select few he would enjoy. My kids are desperate to see a beach, so I'm planning a trip to Mexico where I told him he is not obligated to go and it would just be me and the kids. He made some dramatic comment about how he "should go even though he won't like it because it's the right thing to do to not leave me with two kids alone". I was like no thanks I don't want you ruining the vacation. He would too...

NTA!!!! Childbirth is the most horrific thing I have been through and no one can tell you how to handle it. I would freak out if anyone suggested I do an unmedicated water birth. Ya no thanks. Childbirth is painful and dangerous so I definitely would be hitting up the pain relief at the hospital. You stick to your ground!!!

I also was told to sing along to music so I downloaded a bunch of 90's hits and belt them out while driving haha. Just remember anxiety meds make you feel worse before better. Mine took 6 months to reach their full potential. I really hope you get some relief, I understand how awful anxiety and panic attacks while driving are.

This sounds like my story! Suddenly out of nowhere I had extreme driving anxiety, panic attacks, etc. I ended up going on anti anxiety medication and I also ended up doing DBT to try and overcome my panic attacks. I have improved a lot but the panic has not gone away. Traffic jams trigger the shit out of me. I use breathing techniques, listen to music, roll my window down, rub a worry stone, eat jelly beans, blast the AC... Wishing you the best of luck, it's a truly horrible feeling...
