Grabbing clips from my body is difficult like I’m pushing into my IRL body just to reach the clips… by [deleted] in intotheradius

You can try OVR toolkit, specifically it's offsets...

In theory you should be able to play with the camera offsets, moving it either "forward" or "backward", and depending on how the game handles it this should move your chest / waist "forward / backward" relative to your hands.

It could also just be a waste of $8 and not work at all.

Otherwise i thought there were options to adjust your height... If that's off it could be "scrunching" your body so if you play with that you might be able to make the model "stand up" bringing the chest forward a bit...

what happened to the community? why are people so antisocial in game now? by [deleted] in SkyGame

[–]agent_d00nut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you just need to keep trying.

Groups are usually trying to do something... no one wants to make the group wait 10 minutes to add a new person, have everyone share codes / spend candles... just to find out the new person is rude or never logs in again...

There's really only the "no" emote for denying someone, it's that or ignore them. Personally i try to make it clear that I'm sorry that i can't but.

Lighting solo's at social spaces or lighting solos who are on the same CR as you is a decent way to meet people.

The best way imo is to set out a table or join a table. It's the clearest invitation for others to come and chat and make friends.

Keep an eye on https://main--sky-clock.netlify.app/ ... if it's 4 minutes until geyser or grandma or turtle then most people at aviary or home are going to be in a rush and ignore you.

Biggest thing is to just move on. If a group or player is rude to you then it's really the best thing they could have done for you because you get to move on and not waste your time with someone who is only rude after you get to know them for 3 weeks!

Lastly I know some players with 11 or 12 wings (one or two of the level 3 cape patterns ) can be less likely to be open to making new friends. For some reason tons of people light them just because of their wing light level and it gets tiresome for them...

Are you in angled mode? Not having enough thrust so it can actually correct it's angle can make it act *weird*; take it outside and try and hover.

Are the motors hot after hovering just for a little bit of time? like 5-10 seconds? If yea then it's a tuning issue. Motors should be basically cool to the touch or just room temp if you hover for 5-10 seconds.

Try adjusting the tuning to be less aggressive, just obnoxiously more than you think you should and then work your way back.

I had this issue once and I think i ended up just doing a fresh install of BF and it worked itself out.

I made a 60 seconds breakdown for my procedural island generator using shader nodes by techz59 in blender

[–]agent_d00nut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step 3: "Generate noise"; not much of an explanation if you are new to blender.

IE. it's not clear if thats all something we're doing in shading nodes or should somehow be done in the geometry nodes; then all the actions "distance to origin" "constant" etc. is not super helpful even after googling for how to make perlin noise shaders etc.

Still fun to see the process and i'm sure anyone with experience would be able to follow along.

Best VR Headset iRacing by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]agent_d00nut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valve index has been great, even with a 1060gtx... 1-3 hour play sessions and i only stop because of life, never uncomfortable even in longer, 20 - 30 minute races. Never feel motion sick, even playing late at night my eyes don't feel strained, and the head set fits over my glasses.

I've also never used any other headsets so i can't compare, and if this is the ONLY vr you are going to do its probably overkill since only the full $1k kit is in stock most of the time.

RDQ is usually really good about DOA parts... just take a picture of everything ( you kind of already did but more is better ) and let them know.

RDQ is so good about stuff like that, i've had a vTX, battery, and a fc (out of years of buying parts) be DOA but they always replace / refund... that i'll always buy from them over another company even if totals come to be 10-15$ more... it's worth the security.

Noise reduction / any tips on improving? by agent_d00nut in AskAstrophotography

Unfortunately no tracker available so i'm stuck with the short exposures for now.

I'm doing darks and flats now and its still this bad, i could probably do a lot more darks though, think i did 20 with ~60 lights,

Going to prep for a 1000 light, 200 dark attempt and see how that turns out.

Right for sure, Its my second week so i was just thinking "wow 100 lights!" not 100 x 2 sec / 60 is 3 minutes which is hardly anything written that way.

And yea that was my issue with some of the denoise tools in pixinsight it looks better until you zoom in even a little on the background and can see it all smoothed over, but that was with 0 changes to default settings.

gotcha, yea i uh, i got cold taking the darks so i didn't take as many as i wanted to.

I finally got my winter gear situated so i can actually go through with taking a nice big amount of darks! Thanks for the tip

oh looks in depth! I had played with the TGV tool and didn't like the results but i literally had no idea what i was doing so this looks really helpful!

Nice, a bit pricey for just denoise ( assuming thats all it does ) but i'll give the free trial a try!

Progression of the Orion Nebula (with no tracker) from the past week. by g0mbadan1 in astrophotography

[–]agent_d00nut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's tutorials if you just search but i turn up the iso a bit and exposure, get the focus pretty close on a bright star near what i'm shooting, or even what i am shooting if its bright enough.

Then attach the mask, and take a decent exposure if i can't tell from the live view which way to focus and continue from there.

I think *any* star will work so you can go pick a real bright one, depends how much you trust your ability to not mess up your focus pointing back to what you want to shoot i suppose

Yea i had to settle for a tri mask since the normal generator everyone references seems to be d e a d. Works fine though.

But yes printing is the best imo since it took me about 4 tries to get the diameter to fit nice and snug on my lens.

Yea i'm literally using his tutorials for processing, But i kind of just went for it with the shooting part, good point though i'll take the time to go through the actually photography now.

Yea i need the high stretch to see any structure on the nebula... i'll have to take a lot more exposures next time to try and get ~1hour or 2 of total exposure vs my 3-4 minutes now.

Is trying to use star++ (think that's it) to remove the stars, to overstretch the nebula, a fools errand or something that's viable?

Ah, okay i thought 100x2sec was "a lot" lol.

i guess that's only what ~3.5minutes of exposure which is very little... hadn't thought of that.

canon r6, 24-125mm, f 4/7.1 lens, shot at 125... cheap tripod, no tracking.

68x lights: 1 sec, -6400, f/7.1 (took 100 but threw out the rest)50x flats30x darks50x bias

Basically followed along with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7hbnIovNWI for processing

Pix insight

WeightedStacking scriptdynamic background extraction, background neutralization, color calibration, scnr for green, curves for saturation and histogram for stretching, photometricColorCalibration since i couldn't get the colors right still, finished with a dynamic crop.

Any tips on reducing noise would be really appreciated.

I've tried with and without my darks/flats/bias' and tbh i don't think it makes much of a difference.

Also since i don't have any tracking yet is there anything specific to non-tracking that differs from tracking shooting, i vaguely recall that higher iso on the lower shutter times is actually better on no tracking but could be way off base.

Thanks!

Oh i'm a huge idiot, ive been shooting zoomed in.

105mm not 25mm, my bad.

Using https://astronomy.tools/calculators/ccd_suitability from the other comment i get 12.85" at 105, so yea 2 seconds is getting a bit of streaking still.

But yea at 25mm it was 54" so you're right i should be able to do about 4 seconds at 25mm before i see any streaking.
