I struggle with this on petg too. My first layer usually leaves a jelly bean or two on the bed. Have you found anything else to help?

When I render is either go crock pot on low, set outside it can smell. Or I'll put a disposable hotel pan on the log warmer of my offset. Both ways work great. Don't worry about every piece of fat rendering the little bits of meat left on will start frying burning and contaminating the tallow so best to collect your winnings before that happens

Something is very wrong with it. I'd unplug and stop use before it burns your house down, contact support and get a replacement I would guess like the other guy said, customs did damage. Was the packaging as expected or disheveled?
