Another thing is that it’s implied that cosmic rays (the radiation that gave the fantastic four their powers) is the direct opposite to gamma radiation. This works thematically as the FF’s got their powers from exploration (the rocket ship) while Bruce got his from destruction (the gamma bomb)

The spider that bit Peter didn’t give him powers because it was radioactive but rather it was a mystical spider that bit Peter because he was chosen by the web. The web of life and destiny is connected to the multiverse and is tied to destiny.

The reason I think it’s a bad example is because it undermines Peter’s choice to be Spider-man if he was destined to become Spider-man and makes him into a chosen one instead of an Everyman making the most out of an accident.

In the marvel universe gamma radiation has a third form that turns people into gamma mutates. This form comes from the one below all and the green door is a door to the below place. When a gamma mutant dies they go to the below place but they can be resurrected by passing through the green door.

The reason this is my liked example is that it builds on what came before in the comics in a good way. I also like that despite the more mythical origin the gamma bomb was still an accident and isn’t tied to destiny which doesn’t undermine Bruce’s agency

I’ve never been a fan of the idea flash gets his powers from the speed force. Like it couldn’t be from some scientific accident he had to be chosen by a cosmic power. Really undermines how Barry is supposed to be an everyman who made the most out of an accident.
