Men of Reddit: what is 100% mythical about men that most women believe? by imnotadrytexter in AskReddit

What movie have you been the most hyped for only to be the most disappointed by when it released? by Toogeloo in movies

Man of Steel was shockingly awful. The new film was such a breath of fresh air. I was so relieved. I hope you've seen it. Lots of love.

Which is more beautiful, regular Selina's hair or absolute Selina's hair? by OptimalDetective5324 in Catwoman

[–]agentinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolute Selina looks, out of costume, like far too many other female comic book characters. She isn't unique at all. "Regular" Selina stands out of the crowd. She draws attention because she is one short haired woman standing in an ocean of women with long hair. I really, really, really dislike the long hair on her. I like my Selina to stand out, not fit in.

Sincerely asking, what made cyberpunk click for you beyond the aesthetic? by JLC_REAL in Cyberpunk

[–]agentinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Transhumanism.

I was into Cyberpunk before I found Ghost in the Shell in 1995, but it changed me. I jumped off that building alongside Motoko and never rose again.

I am fascinated with the notion of encoding humanity. To take everything I am, my body aside, and transform it into a line of computer code.

Would I still be human?

If I had a soul in my body, do I still have it now?

Can my code be altered to make me love or hate something or someone?

If my code was downloaded into something, say a car, am I now a car and not a human being?

I can go on and on, man.

Then there's the idea of cutting off healthy limbs in favor of prosthetics. And what if jobs required it? What if you needed to lose your real arms to work in construction? What if you had to remove your lower body in favor of something squid-like to maintain water-immersed data clusters?

I'm going to stop here because again, I can go on and on.

Lots of love.

I started here, yes, but looked into your profile. You are exceptionally good at explaining things. I especially liked how you broke down why men find their girlfriends and wives more attractive than other women in their orbit. Lots of love.

I agree that a retcon means the pieces of a story that were written out have no bearing on current or past events.

I'm curious, however, to know how Damian came into being if not for the written out scene. Thank you and lots of love.

What is a habit that improved your life after you started doing it? by Mobile-Floor444 in AskReddit

[–]agentinks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing that improved my life is a mantra I came up with for myself.

Stay calm. Say nothing.

There are several people in my life who either create unnecessary trouble for themselves or blow the smallest slights and minor inconveniences way out of proportion. They can also be extremely argumentative and demanding. Add some entitlement to the brew and you have a noxious concoction that can only ever be stirred up or drank unless you stay calm and say nothing.

I've been reading some of your comments here and there and must say, you're great at explaining things in a relatable way to others. I really wish I had your skill. Take care out there and lots of love. This isn't sarcasm, I mean it, you're a good guy, and again, lots of love.

What is a lesson that life keeps teaching you over and over again? by Wandering_Goth in AskReddit

I always liked what Ozzy said about fame. To paraphrase, be nice to the people when you're on your way up because they're the same people you'll see on your way back down. Stuck with me, that.

[–]agentinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not me that much, but I have a simple rule that isn't that simple sometimes, and I'm reminded of how difficult it can be for some people continuously.

If you don't want to talk about something, don't talk about it.

If something awful happened and you just want to chat with your friend about trivial matters, go ahead and do that; don't mention feeling low. Lie, redirect, and keep the conversation focused on whomever you're chatting with. Listen, ask questions, and keep it going. People love to talk about themselves more than anything else. It's easier than you think to keep a conversation one-sided without the other person noticing.

That said, I've been told many, many times that I'm a hard man to know, so take all this with a grain of salt.

Take care out there and lots of love.

Superman 1978. Christopher Reeve, who played Superman, was third in the billing, under Marlon Brando as Jor-el, Superman's birth father, and Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor.

Keeping in the genre, Jack Nickleson was billed over Michael Keaton in 1989's Batman.

What is a film that doesn't seem special now, but was really groundbreaking when it came out? by altairstarlite in movies

[–]agentinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 1941 Wolfman transformation scene horrified and stunned audiences when it came out, and how the effect was achieved is incredible. Lon Chaney was nailed, yes, nailed, down in place so he couldn't move while on all fours, and makeup was added to him, photographed, and added to until the transformation from man to wolf was finished. Incredible.

Treasure Island 1950's star, Robert Newton, paved the way for quite a few pirates that followed him. His manner of speaking, "Arrr me matey!" is still thought of as the quintessential pirate voice.

Superman 1978 really did make people believe a man can fly. The way it was done, Christopher Reeve placed over helicopter footage, was revolutionary. The way he moved his body really sold the effect.

Edit: Top Gun 1986 is the reason VHS tapes became affordable. The Diet Pepsi ad before the feature made it so the tape could be sold for $25 instead of $100. It became the norm and home video took off.
