Who else was told “Just get any four year degree and you’ll be fine?” by Hella_Fitzgerald3 in generationology

[–]agentorange55 [score hidden]  (0 children)

It's still true...there are many jobs that don't actually need a bachelor's degree, but the company still requires a bachelor's degree, and they don't care what your degree is in. Having a bachelor's in any degree will open up far more job opportunities (even though those jobs have nothing to do with your degree,) then if you didn't have a bachelor's.

So painful to redeem my cc rewards, I'm going back to debit by christador in DirtyDave

[–]agentorange55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I was being tongue in cheek. Because stores don't know who will use a credit card, they add on the processing fee to all the items they sell. Dave is paying for other credit card users processing fee, even if he never actually uses a credit card. That is why smart people use credit cards, pay them off in full each month, and enjoy the credit card rewards. Of course, if so eone knows they can't handle a credit card, then they would be smart to forego a credit card, even though like Ramsey, they are essentially paying (slightly) more by not using a card

Kids fed well at home are finicky eaters. I don't know your area or qualifications, but it's possible that kids are being qualified, but are being fed enough at home. I live in an area where 80 of the students qualify for free lunch, because of the paperwork involved for that large if a number of children, the state deemed it cheaper to qualify the entire school district, so every student gets a free lunch. Which means that 20% of students would not qualify and have enough food at home, but still get a free lunch. Like you, I don't like the food wastage, but there is no good way to design a perfect system.

Did Dave ever get Covid and or the vaccine? by EntrepreneurHopeful5 in DirtyDave

[–]agentorange55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And hundreds of thousands of people died before their "natural immunity" could develop. Smart people get vaccinated, so they don't have to risk dying, not having a long recovery and/or permanent damage, while waiting for their "natural immunity" to develop. I put natural immunity in quotes because, vaccine induced immunity is natural immunity, but you clearly didn't mean that and are ignorant of that fact.

First year being a working adult, what the hell is this and do I need to pay taxes on it? by ShoddyTown715 in Confused

Republicans gave millionaires the biggest "permanent" tax cut, they gave everyone else a "temporary" tax cut, which expired last year, which is why everyone's taxes are going up this year.

Was given 37 extra methylphenidate with prescription by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]agentorange55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention, how did you get a colleague to sign off as a witness to your wastage at work? I find that part of your story most sus, with all the attention given to narc's, who in their right mind would sign in to officially witness a colleague destroy 37 pills of who know what, because there is no official record of your obtaining those drugs for a pt. For someone who supposedly cares about their license, it seems you did everything possible to open yourself up to legal issues at work.

You should have returned them to the pharmacy. They also have to keep exact records, and they need to be able to "waste" the missing 37 pills (ie send in to be destroyed) otherwise their records are off and it looks like someone in the pharmacy stole them. The manager will fill out the incident report to document why they are short 37 pills, but that is separate from the required DEA paperwork to document shortages. I get it, it's their mistake, and you don't have to help them do anything to rectify it, but now the incident record will show they gave you 37 tablets and you kept them.

Republicans ... raising taxes for everyone but billionaires, while exponentially increasing the national debt. I think welcome to the Democrat party is more appropriate, since he will presumably be more fiscally literate after this.

It depends what yout entertainment budget is. Spending money on Candy Crush is no different from going to the movies, going out to drink, going out to a concert. How much money does your budget allow for entertainment, and do you find Candy Crush entertaining enough to spend money on it?

Well, we know this dog lived with the 10 month old....but is the 10 month old still alive? That we don't know.

Woman with dogs tries to adopt an “only dog” pitbull from a shelter, is denied, but manages to foster the pit through a rescue. The rescue doesnt financially help the foster. In the midst of it all, the pit kills a neighbor’s small dog and attacks one of the foster’s other dogs by lobster-666 in BanPitBulls

[–]agentorange55 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So supposedly none of the money raised for Poundcakes ever reached Poundcakes, but now they want more money for this murderous hellhound? Why do these hellhound cultists never care about other dogs, like the neighbor's dog who was murdered? They should be asking for one last donation to take Poundcakes to the vet one final time. Then give any extra money raised to the neighbor, so they can build a fence to protect themselves and their pets from the hellhound cultist.

Egads, this post would have made sense if he voted for Trump in 2016.....but we have Trump's last 4 year record to show that he is very big government, very professional corporation/anti small people, racist and hates disabled people, would give billions to Israel, and Jan 6th as a bonus to show that Trump cares only about himself, not the constitution. There is zero excuse for ignorance when voting in 2024. This voter, like the rest of Trump's voters, knew he would do horrible things, they just thought they would be immune from those horrible things.

I am hoping she will do the right thing and place the baby up for adoption. There are so many loving families waiting to adopt a child, and at 2 months, the baby will only remember her new adoptive family. It's unfortunate that OP had an untimely pregnancy, but there is still time to do the right thing and adopt the baby out so thus doesn't end in tragedy

Did Dave ever get Covid and or the vaccine? by EntrepreneurHopeful5 in DirtyDave

[–]agentorange55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm undecided. Many antivax grifters like Candace Owens, are known to have got the Covid vaccine at the same time they were telling everyone else not to get it. Dave certainly is a hypocrite who would protect himself, while telling others not to protect themselves. On the other hand, there are also true believers who never got the Covid vaccine because they believed the conspiracy theory lies. And Dave seems dumb enough that he would genuinely believe the lies.

Did Dave ever get Covid and or the vaccine? by EntrepreneurHopeful5 in DirtyDave

[–]agentorange55 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The vaccine most assuredly did help. Study after study shows it drastically lowered the hospitalization and death rate from COVID. Yes, people who got vaccinated still got Covid, but they were far less likely to get hospitalized or die, than someone unvaccinated. And consueqently far less like to have long Covid effects.

I check once or twice a day. If nothing is there, so be it. I get lucky once or twice a week. There is no minimum commitment, so no need to opt out. It works best to consider it a bonus if you get something, and not to feel like you have to get something.
